I'm glad I took y'alls advice to get comprehensive insurance - 2 months into my new bike and someone tried to steal it, damaged the frame and everything. Total bill came out to $3,200. I paid a $100 deductible, and my cost for an entire year of the policy was about $550 - that saved me $2,500. So in other words, be smart and save yourself a whole lotta money because I would've been so mad if I had to swallow that repair bill

For me it’s the 919. They’re just so comfortable and reliable. I’ve had my 06 for 6 years now and it’s just a good bike and very fun. I’m the second owner and I’ve even been on the back seat for many of the 7,000 miles it had on it before I bought it off dad. It just has a special place in my heart since I’ve been on the machine from such a young age. Mine is bone stock and beautiful, it’s about as perfect as a bike from 2006 can be. The bikes with full fairings and extremely aggressive riding positions aren’t really practical for me. I’m 6’2” 205lbs so Spite probably knows what I’m talking about lol excellent video as always!

how comfy you are on a sports bike depends a lot on how big you are......lol i'm 5'6 and the ZX's that taller people (and not much taller at that) are folded up like a pocketknife on is super comfortable for me for long distance.....the GSXR's tend to have a massive wide seat that stops me from being able to put a foot down without sliding half off the seat

My skill level with a sport bike is limited and as such I feel I need to start small and go up, not 250 small but 600 small. I rode my friends GSX 600 R and I enjoyed it very much. Damn insurance is crazy in America! My 2004 636 with full coverage here in England, was £150, for the year (that's about $200) - side note, I ride mine for upto 8-10 hours a day on long rides, but yeah, I do a lot of stretches and stuff. And, if you have even a slightly injured thigh, the zx6 let's you know, and kicks your ass
@FlashedNinja
@FlashedNinja 2 жыл бұрын
'21 636 here Not sure if it's the same but It's all based on geography, age, background history, general history of the bike itself on how other people who own the same model you use, average cost of repairs either from minor damage to totalled and other factors. So yeah over here we're all dangerous to ourselves and others lol. Which is why we pay high insurance, I'm probably a bit on the low end but still more paying on average US $350-$380 a year 😅
@waterpanda222
@waterpanda222 2 жыл бұрын
I feel like there’s no way you have full coverage for that little, only liability. The valuation on a rideable 04 636 is still well above most entry level bikes. Insurance companies wouldn’t be able to stay afloat covering liability and the bike itself for so little. People would just dump their bike when repairs are needed and basically get a $5k check for a few $200 payments.
@dennisclark9544
@dennisclark9544 2 жыл бұрын
@@waterpanda222 insurance for bikes is just that cheap here. I've had ducatis insured for similar prices. I have been riding for 11 years though, and have 8 years of no claims on my record, with each year giving a discount, dunno if you do that over there? My other bike, my 1994 zxr400, is £75 for the year. The next tier down, third party with fire and theft, would make the zxr about 50, and the 636 was just over £100 for that level. If you havent ridden on the street like I can extrapolate from your comment I would suggest a 300. So maybe the KTM Duke 390, BMW 310 R something like that, I guess if you really have ridden dirtbikes you can ride but trust me it takes a couple months at least to "learn" to ride in traffic. You can still sell it after a year when you put some miles on it, I was hit by a drunk driver and I could have prevented it looking back, just take your time. You are 15 take the year to perfect your street riding and to learn how to see when another driver is acting strange. I know in the US 300 are seen as small but again stay alive and go fast later on. In Europe many many 16 year olds die on 125ccm just because they underestimate the stupidity of daily traffic.

That speed triple is amazing looking and you will be king squid if you pull up om that. I think for about half the $$$ and probably less than half of luxury, the MT-09 is a great street squid motorcycle if you want a triple. Triples give you a great balance of torque and HP and that's what you want on the street. I'm also a biased MT-09 owner so, there's that.

What kind of squid wants a bike that's barely rideable at 90 and tops out at 120? My V-Strom does better than that. Yamaha needs to put that triple in an adventure bike, perhaps a Tenere 900.

The American approach to your title question is bigger is always better. The reality is each bike is specific to how you want to ride. The solution for me is to own 3 motorcycles! Classic 1993 Kawasaki Zephyr 1100, ZX12R, FJR 1300.

Should have a guest spot with Gixxer Brah testing your Busa to see what it can really do. He's been trying to get a GPS verified reading over 200mph and topped out many liter bikes, a Busa and ZX14R but they don't want to beat 189mph.

When I was looking for insurance quotes between a tuono v4, super duke 1290, and a liter bike, the liter bike was over 2x the cost of the other 2 to insure (also have clean driving record)

I definitely experienced sticker shock hen I started insurance shopping as part of my first bike purchase. I ended up landing on an '05 Suzuki Sport Touring Katana 600 and only pay less than $40/month for it. None of the bells and whistles I wanted, but also less shit to break or worry about as I learn. I figure I'll sit on it for a year or two until the time is right to get a newer bike. I really wanted the 2023 CFMoto 450SS but the numbers just weren't in the cards right now. It would have been like a couple hundred bucks per month between the payment and the insurance.

I just traded my 06 gsxr600 for a 04 gsxr1000 huge difference for street riding, the 1000 is a lot my uncomfortable for longer rides but oh boy I can’t believe how fast it is and how little I can be full throttle without having the wheel come up, the 600 I was comfortable and fun around town, not to say the 1000 isn’t fun around town, but you definitely can actually wind it out and use the power available unlike the 1000, either way though, I love my gsxr1000 and wouldn’t even consider trading back

Buell xb12s 2010 is my choice still... sounds fantastic, riding position is good and even tho she is a hefty girl, the weight actually makes it steadier in all conditions. But have to say, been looking in to buying either a R7 or a 400zx-rr as a more "streetbike".. Because I can get my kicks on my 2t 250cc Gamma -92 or my 250cc Husqvarna Enduro, naturally a 2t. Summertime. Winter... ^^

Surprised they didn't throw the GSX-S1000 into the mashup since Spite compared it to the K6 Gixxer recently. Comfortable ergos of the Hornet, modernised K5-K8 Gixxer full liter engine that still has cable-actuated throttle, traction control, surprisingly good gas mileage, and used ones can be had in the $7 -10k range. Insurance? Could be be better, could be worse.

Seriously the RRR suspension is amazing for short and long rides. The electronic suspension absorb all the bumps and I am 6 foot 4. When I get off my RC51 with Mupo suspension front and rear and get on my RRR I feel like I am in a Cadillac. I do so some long rides btw. Starting to feel you get paid to push motorcycle that are being discontinued and that are sitting on the showroom floor.

I like 1000 cc I recommend anything from 600 and up. Reason is you won’t have too long before you get used to your bike. I like bigger because it doesn’t take effort to catch up. But in handling and fast tigh corners 600 is very effective.
