I have 2 EKX-SP18 paired with 2 ETX-SP35 for a 4 way system that sounds really good. But outdoors the subs have a lot of punch but not so much on the bottom end boom. And recently I added a pair of ETX-P15 to go on top of both. Now I’m going to have to add another set of subs to the mix hoping that might give me the boom I’m looking for. 4 subs should kick my but. I use all this mainly for my home stereo system and sometimes with the band that I play in.

I actually got a EV 12SP and thought I would just check it out. But I liked it and knew that I could always use it for my personal use such as tailgates and bbqs. That little sub kicks for it's size although I probably max it out every time but it does not distort badly. So maybe I will try out a 2nd one stacked and see if I can actually gig. The 12SP is just too small to gig with as a single sub. But I can see if helping out as a sub with a line array like the Evolve. I would also like to try out the EKX-15SP that he shows here. I just am not into hauling bigger subs anymore. I once had four 18s and I would not even bring them out often due to size and weight. 18 inch subs do hit lower but two of these 15 inch subs stacked will outdo a single18. According to my calculations two stacked 12SP's will match the output of a single18. My point is that I like the sound and power of the 18, but at my age not the weight. FYI ... the 15SP weighs 57 pounds and the 18SP 72 pounds. Basically a one person load vs a two person load.

I had 2x elx200 15p tops and 2 of these 15 inch subs for my rock band. Really good set up for an acoustic drumset. The subs offered a really nice punch on the low end and the tops were very loud and clear, great for a poppy snare drum. I highly recommend.

Please do a comparison of the EV EKX 15sp vs the EV ELX200 12sp. Just bought the EKX 15sp but not sure if i should have went with a pair of 12’s instead. Would like to see a size difference as im wanting a pair of 12’s or 15’s whichever is more portable. Thanks! Great review and can’t wait to receive the EKX 15sp in a few days.

Hello greetings from Miami I currently have 2 tops ETX 15p and 2 bottom EKX 15 subwoofer When I put them all together at 100hz it sounds very loud buy missing low end. When I set all of them to factory reset default it sounds rich bass may be too much bass... What's the best way to set them up. I feel like my tops has enough bass already Do i need my subwoofer for my application ?? Or how to take advantage of them Thanks

I have the EKX15SP sub with a ELX200-12P Top The EKX15SP doesn’t have on the DSP LOW PASS Menu the ELX200-12P speaker, it have the ZXL /EKX and the ELX112 , what Option should i use then ? 80 hz 100 hz / 120hz or 150 hz

I have 2 Yamaha DXS 15" active subs. And thinking about adding to more. But im not sure if i will buy 2 x 15" or 18" subs. The 18s are nearly double the price. Is it worth it? To be honest the punchi have in the 15s are great.

I have an 18SP. Shipped weight is above 90lbs, but net weight is only about 72 lbs, which is very manageable for an 18. Does great for me under a pair of 10 inch tops for most wedding settings. Net weight on the 15 is under 58 lbs, for comparison.

What did you go for? I was in the same boat but it was in between QSC and Yamaha. I did buy Yamaha DXR 15" tops and DXS 15" subs. The yamaha have much more clear sound imo over QSC.

I have an 80 person event coming up. A lot of bass heavy music for that night. Im taking a pair of evolve 30's and have either the ekx 15sp and the ekx18 sp at my disposal. Which one would u recommend for use with the evolve 30's? It will be an indoor gig.

The 18” sub will move significantly more air than the 15” just going by surface area. The 18 would also be my pick knowing it’s a big bass gig. You also should be able to dial in the cutoff frequency in the mix going from the sub to the evolves. Should give the whole system more breathing space. Hope this helps! 👍

I have the ekx18 and i have use the exk15 in the past. Both speakers deliver a great quality bass souns no doubt . That is what this brand of subs delivers, versus cheaper subwoofers . Now if ur talking about which to buy or use and where to use that will depend in manny facors , such of the size of the venue and the people inside the venue ,is it indoors or outdoors. It all comes down to common sense. The smaller the speaker the smaller the venue and so the less people . The biggr the venue and if is outdoors u need bigger speaker and obviously more than just one sub. Simple as that. More spakers means more volume more decibels and more stronger sound pressure

I would put the ETX right next to the 15 inch tops, have them slightly set a bit wider (putting the speaker boxes tight so they are at a bit of an angle) then set the ETX to a 6 inch delay offset.. that will be enough to keep some of the audio cancelation from going on as the sound waves will be a slight bit out of sync, but it won't be noticeable to the human ear.. maybe play with the ETX delay setting to give a bit of delay, without making it sound weird..

Dice que en cuanto a calidad del sonido, componentes, etc. Es exactamente lo mismo. El peso del 18” es 15 kilos más, y por ende más portable el de 15”. La diferencia radica en la potencia y frecuencias que te den, si quieres algo complementario para tu sonido y “eventos chicos” el de 15 te va bien, pero si quieres algo más potente para cubrir más y el traslado no te genera problema, definitivamente el de 18” es tu mejor opción.

John - Curious about your thoughts. Radio/club/mobile vinyl DJ, 70s-90s, now retired w/time. Just ordered 1 EXK-15SP sub and 2 ELX200-15 tops based on sub weight, $$ for tops, specs. Live band/mobile DJ use. 80s/90s dance/rock/pop, classic rock, country genres. Want loud, clear sound. Have 2 QSC CP12s for outdoor/large venues or band/beat-mixing monitors. May add 2nd sub if needed.

I have a different brand, but we use two 15" top cabinets and two 15" subs. We mix and match 2, 3, and 4 all the time. Never had any sort of frequency cancellation. If for some reason you would, just set your crossover to separate the frequencies and think of it as a 3 way system. Tweeter for highs, top cabinet 15" for mid range and sub for the bottom. We started with one 15" sub and then added a second last year. They don't hit as hard as an 18" but I don't have to visit the chiropractor after I carry them either.

It can work.. but, a 15 top is best over an 18 sub... it is all on the cross over points.. set them to the correct settings and you will be solid.

Great video. I need a suggestion from you. I own a pair of ETX 15P top speakers with 2 EKX 15 subwoofer When I put all together I set them as 100hz frequency on my tops and bottom. It sounds LOUD but not too much bass... If I set the top and bottom to factory default is sounds too much bass . So is ether 100hz or default Any suggestions. Thanks

@@MikeBabsBC I bought one of the On Stage spring-loaded 20M poles to mount it on, it helps lift it to the height you want. Maybe check into something like that for your setup. The 18SP is a beast.

The 18 sub will also throw the bass further than a 15 sub. However the 15 is more of a musical sub and is more preferable by musicians and singers. The 15 won't throw the bass further than the 18.

If its for a live band then I'd go for a 15, the 15 inch subwoofer will give you a tight hard hitting bass. The 18s are designed for club type sounding PA and will throw the sound long distance, and not great for close range where as the 15 are better for close range sound.

I just got the EKX-18S for a great great great price 🤗🤗 now as far as sound, I have no words for it 💪💪💪. Now for a backyard party you might want to prob turn it down or ur neighbors will prob be mad at you and call the cops. This is just with a single 18. Now I'm shure most people will go with the 15 been a little less heavy and smaller but sence I got an amazing price for it I when ahead and got the 18 .
