If you have plumbing issues due to old pipes, try Scott RV toilet tissue. It really disintegrates.

The 1 ply 1000 roll sheets should be tested at 4X amount of the popular name brands because you need to use more each time.

Angel soft is the other one that he said was "ok on softness and broke apart fairly well" plus it looks pretty similar to the kirkland. Also kirkland is made by clearwater paper who makes most of the store-brand TP out there so try the test yourself with some store brand paper and see if it dissolves in your tapwater.

I am in Alaska and Costco supplies a lot of smaller convenient stores, Up here it is called 3 Bears, and there are a few others. Your best bet would be to call Costco and ask.

For septic tanks you do not want the toilet paper to disintegrate, or else it will end up in the drain field

That seems logical to me, but it seems like the general consensus is that toilet paper for septic systems should distintegrate. My thinking is it should sink and stay at the bottom so that only clean water is going to the drain field.

@@sideskraft I like your comment. I suspect if that problem occurs at the leach field it would appear the tank was cleaned but was not refilled after cleaning. Please correct me if I am wrong

When it floats it will never end up in the field ....The open space between the 2 chambers is at the bottom

@@pierreverdoni None of this matters, most brands will put septic safe on the box if it can be used in a septic tank, just read the label on the box. If it says septic safe use it, if it doesn't don't use it. Its that simple. I'm using Quilted Northern right now.
