This weekend I finally bought a toaster - 2011 XB Release Series, with a manual tranny. The 2011 RS XB came with a sunroof, which is a must for me. I searched for this car for a long time. Had Toyota put in the 2.5 and 6-spd automatic tranny in the XB, instead of the older 2.4 and 4-spd auto, I would have bought that instead of the manual.

Rs11! Nice find! I think that is the only one that came with the sunroof! I wish they did update it but Toyota takes their time

@@InsignificantBoost I believe the 2009 or maybe 2010 RS, which came only in a very peculiar gold paint color, was also equipped with a sunroof.

Just go with what you had unless you want to tinker like a BOSS! 😅 I'm not on that level 😅 I had my 09 automatic rebuilt (that's what the 'receipt of services' said 🤷🏾♂️) that shit cost 😣 but thankfully my ride seems all good now. 🙏🏾

My 2 cents...just throw another automatic in it save the time headache and money. If you want an manual I'd find another good running manual xB and go from there. AWD has its own share of headaches and doesn't seem like it would be worth it in this platform especially for city driving in the phoenix area....maybe if you spent a lot of time in flagstaff in the winter or were trying to build an off-road unit for camping, trails, or rally, but you're bagged so I don't think that's the case. In the end though, your money, your time, your ride. Do what makes you happy

If would be more for performance the. Getting stuck but with a full build it would be worth it....but cost is always a factor

Just replace what you had and keep it moving

Honestly you should fix whatever is wrong now and keep this car as a daily. If you want to a AWD project you should get a second xB and build it because it's going to take time and $$. One thing I've never seen done and would like to see is a 2.5l AR with a 6speed auto trans from a rav4. 200 hp and fuel efficient too.
@InsignificantBoost3 жыл бұрын
Going for more power then that!
@jp74893 жыл бұрын
If it was me I would just keep it stock it would save you some $$$$$🤔
@InsignificantBoost3 жыл бұрын
But stock it's not the game plan

Put in the newer 6 speed automatic which Toyotas SHOULD have installed on the XB instead of putting in that ancient 4-spd.

I totally agree, but Toyota does things kinda slow TBH

@@InsignificantBoost i found a forum post a few years ago of a shop that was swapping out the entire 2.4L & 4-sod auto and replacing it with the newer 2.5L & 6-sod auto which has more power and yields better MPG, AND is free of the oil consumption issues that plagued the 2.4L.
