Engine sounds in EVs are actually a safety precaution. People are so used to cars making noise, and EVs are so quiet by comparison that pedestrians can be unaware if one is barreling towards them. So the sounds are there as an audio warning, basically. Me, I want one that makes Jetsons bubble car noises.

It's to let others nearby know that your vehicle is in operation, since the electric motor may not be loud enough to give the same warning that a combustion engine would. I think technically it isn't required to be an engine noise, it could be any noise capable of getting another driver or a pedestrian's attention, but an engine noise is pretty much the best choice to make sure it registers to others as fast as possible that it's a vehicle in motion making the noise.

The person who programed the tesla nerfed its capabilities. The Cybertruck has all wheel steering. Meaning it has the tightest turning radius of any production truck ever made. Tighter than most cars.
