Also if your matric results won't get you to the "serious courses" that you've always wanted ,redo your grade12 instead of going to Uni for the sake of it,you'll end up graduating and being unemployed after.This is YOUR journey, drop that "abantu bazothini" mentality and do everything in your power that will get you into a course that has job security.

Hey Gift I would like to know what is the difference between BengTech in mining engineering at UJ and Beng in mining offered at UP?
@XPR20193 күн бұрын
BEng Tech is 3 years and level 7(degree) but BEng is 4 years level 8 and comes with honours. Both of them can get you to become an engineer.
@albertnile67783 күн бұрын
A BEngTech is an NQF level 7 qualification and a BEng is an NQF level 8 qualification. They are both degrees but the NQF level 8 qualification comes with honours and its easier to be a Pr. Eng with the BEng qualification. As for BEngTech, you will need to study further to become a Pr. Eng. You will need to do BEngTech (honours) for a year, then do a masters degree (MEngTech) to get to Pr. Eng...I would advice you to accept the BEng Mining at UP...I hope you understand.

Tvet College they offer N Diploma's you become an artisan. For mechanical and electrical engineering students at a tvet particularly you can assume engineering status that is become Mechanical or Electrical Engineers through writing/taking a GCC test( Government Certificate of Competency test) upon gaining some experience in the field in this case it wouldn't be compulsory to further studies at university. You can become an Engineer via GCC test with your N Diploma and relevant industry experience. Unfortunately this doesnt apply for civil engineering students at a tvet, to become a technician,technologist or engineer you would have to further your studies at university level particularly at university's of technology for engineering. If NSFAS beneficiary they will fund you for a second qualification if transferring from a tvet to uni. At university level you could enrol for a Diploma or BEngTech depending on the program and university. University of Technology- You can become a engineering technician, engineering technologist even an Engineer if u further your studies up to Masters level ... MEng in coursework to be specific. Undergraduate qualifications offered Diploma and BEngTech Traditional university- You become an engineer immediately after completing your qualification. Undergraduate qualifications offered BEng or BSc (Eng) Thank you and all the best!
