The attachment on the Miele is the wrong one for the surface! They're using a hardwood attachment instead of the upholstery attachment. The one on the Bissell is the rug attachment, so obviously it's going to do a better job on a couch.

As a vacuum enthusiast. When they used hard floor tools on a couch I was enfuriated. The bissel won because it was straight on the couch with no horse hair. The 800 dollar one lost because the horse hair tool is not meant for cloth, just hard floors.

Indeed, as a person who used to repair vacuums (and other appliances) for a living, I'm confident in saying Miele can not be beaten. They may be expensive but looked after properly, their products will last a lifetime. Talking of price, is that the correct rrp in the states? I have that model & it was no where near that price here in the UK where things are normally much more expensive than in the US.

My folks have that Dyson actually, and I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty awesome! Weird to say, but it's actually fun to use as well.

All I am going to say is that for long term use the Dyson is not good. 30 minutes seems like a lot. But when it dies it charges for so long before you can use it again plus if you have actual dogs the thing breaks down every time you use it in half the time. Honestly, unless you live in an apartment all by yourself and can spend that much on a vaccum, then sure, the Dyson V7 could be for you. But if you live in a house with or without other people, have dogs or cats that shed, messy roomates, or can't spend $300 on a vaccum, the dyson is not good.

I was thinking the same thing. I have four cats. My regular plug in vacuum has to be change twice in doing our living room(super small area, I live in a small apartment). That wouldn’t last ten seconds before I’d have to change it out or fix it.

The reason the nutmeg didn't come out with Rhett's because he used the floor attachment. The grooves are for floors. He would have sucked it up had he used a flat attachment.

William Hummel It still would have been disqualified because the $50 vacuum would have done just as good. You can't get cleaner than clean. And since they did use the tool that came with other vacuums, their $800 vacuum probably didn't have it.

Teal MacFarlane, the thing is you'll go through 50 $50 vacuums & the Miele will still be as good as the day it was bought (if used correctly) so if you look at it like that the Miele is a bargain. I have literally had thousands of vacuums through my hands (I used to repair them) & no manufacturer can compare to Miele when it comes to build quality. I must say though their quoted price seems rediculous, cost less than half that price here in the UK. It's dissapointing to see what appears to be biased advertising being shown as light entertainment from a channel I enjoy.

The Miele vacuum has a different head and it’s designated for much more than uncle Randy’s nutmeg, Rhett had the head that was built for wood floor and massaged the dirt making it not stick and pull up easily, He should have had the head that just pulled up and would not push the nutmeg into the couch.

Wally castro I have been seriously considering the Miele... would you say it's worth the money? The best vacuum you've ever had? I was talked out of it last time I bought a vac by the salesman, but the dealer didn't sell Miele, so of course he wouldn't push that brand. I was talked into a simplicity, which I like, but I have been considering Miele again

Amber L j it cost me 1,100 to get the Miele. I absolutely LOVE my Miele it is the best vacuum. It has a variable suction control and has an auto mode which means it uses the exact amount of suction. It also has the best air flow. I was going to get a riccar vacuum but the Miele filters 99% of all the dust and is a extremely quiet and lighter then a riccar. Expensive but worth the price. I have tried Kenmore,Hoover,Dyson,sebo,shark,and much more but I love my Miele.Mine is the Miele complete c3 Marin

Wally castro thank you! I have tried Hoover, Dyson, shark, simplicity, etc. I've never been truly satisfied with any of them for any length of time. I've wanted a Miele ever since I saw a review a few yrs back. And yes $1100 IS pricey, but when I add up all the money I've spent over the years it's totally worth it if it does what it's supposed to. Thanks again 😀
