My EDC is a Victorinox Rambler. I used to carry a Midnite Manager, but the Rambler has all the essential tools I need, because I carry a separate pen and light. It's the scissors I use more than anything, then the knife for opening packages, then the bottle opener/Phillips screwdriver.

I have been a 58mm knife guy for most of my life. Carrie the classic for 6 years, moved to the rambler in 2012, got a manager in 2014 used that till 2019 when I got a mini champ, now I alternate between a minichamp and a manager. For everyday needs I still think the 58mm are the best bang for buck. Just started getting more into the other sizes for various tasks and collecting, 74mm has intrigued me the most in the last few months and I do enjoy carrying the executive from time to time.

My EDC is the Huntsman with the Plus scales added. I’ve done some of your mods to it and I’ve done a few of my own. I do a variety of different things for my job. I do carpentry, electrical, plumbing, machining, drywall, painting and many other things. I’m not often sure what I’ll be doing from one day to the next. The Huntsman has just about all the things I need for a pocket knife/tool. When I travel out of town for work I’ll use my Huntsman to fix my meals. I use it to open food packages and cans or to slice up fruits, vegetables or meats. It’s just about perfect for my needs.

My EDC is also the huntsman and I’ll be getting the plus scales soon. I could only get one knife for Christmas, so I looked at one that was good in the sticks, good in the garage and good on the streets. I’m very happy with my choice. I bought an Alox farmer a few months back, but I honestly feel like I wasted my money. The huntsman does more and is more versatile, the extra size and weight doesn’t bother me too much.

@@cowboy4378 Agree. The Huntsman is a great compromise between weight and usefulness. Lots of uses and it’s not that heavy in the pocket. You can get the plus scales off of eBay for not much money. They will include the pen, a straight pin, the eyeglass screwdriver and a key ring as well as an extra toothpick and extra tweezers. It takes about 3-4 weeks to arrive but it’s worth the wait. Here’s where I got mine and I’m really happy with what I got. www.ebay.com/itm/VICTORINOX-SCALES-HANDLES-91-mm-PLUS-3-SLOTS-WITH-TWEEZER-TOOTHPICK-PEN-PIN-/254438995127?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 It looks like they aren’t available anymore. I couldn’t agree more with your choice, Felix. I used to have a Signature Lite, which I carried on my key ring, and I was perfectly satisfied with its set of tools. The pen came in handy much more often than one would think. Then the scales broke off, so the Signature Lite turned into a Classic SD.

Hi Felix. Been watching your series on Victorinox tools and it inspired me to start my own little projects with my oldest son. I got a Cyber Tool (41) I've bought many years ago and it is an awesome tool with pretty much everything I can possibly need in any given situation. Because I love this tool so much I bought a slightly smaller model for my son, the Cyber Tool (34), because he got smaller hands than me it was a better match. At the same time I want him to be able to do similar things that I do, so I couldn't really choose another model. 😊 Since we live in Sweden, above the Arctic Circle, we have to wait for spring before it's possible to do something creative in the forest. But by then we should have watched all your videos and learnt many new things to try out. Thank you so much for the awesome videos you do and keep up the great work.

Anyone who sees me on IG will know I change up multitools almost every day. However there is one tool for me that stands heads and shoulders above anything else: the Victorinox Manager (tweezer version). The additional combo tool is amazing and also let's the tool be used with the Leatherman bit exchanger (designed for square philips) used diagonally. With that one tool alone I can do an obscene number of things. Cheers.

Back in 1982 ( I was 14) I had a Climber as a present from my Dad. Back then, it did not have a multi purpose hook or lanyard ring....but basically the same knife. Was boxed and presented in a velvet effect mould. Very classy. For the last 3 years, I have had the Climber again.....ideal for EDC urban use......I do take it everywhere even in the woods. It feels as if it is part of my body now as I do so much with it. I have it with the plus scales which I love and have recently this week put the bearing in the scale, in case I do a bow drill. The only thing I wish I had was a ferro Rod in the scales....or a light. For the woods and survival stuff, I use the Farmer. The saw is excellent and it is more durable than the Climber. Super toll videos Wie immer. Viele Grüße aus Wales in Großrittannien.

Huntsman is always with me since 1996. In 2018 it got new plus scales with a pen, pin needle and mini screwdriver. This SAK has some good stories to tell. In one occasion I was using it to install a new lamp in the bedroom, so I thought I had the power down and went ahead to cut the wire. Next, a huge electrical spark happened as soon as I touched the wire with the steel, which melted the blade, leaving it with a "c" hole. Well, the blade saved me, for if it was my finger there, I would've been fryed. I grinded the blade afterwards, reshaping it like the Felix small blade modification.

A Swisschamp as resident knife in every EDC bag and my winter jackets (M65), a Manager on my car keys, a Cybertool on my belt. At home, either a Deluxe Tinker or Cybertool light in my Engelbert Strauss trousers, thigh side pocket and a Bantam in the right hand side pocket (quicker to grab while standing somewhere, the side pocket is better accessible while seated) Of course this is sort of overkill, but I do like the knifes and look for every excuse to get another one. The video thumbnail had me! Anyway, here's my EDC: When I am out and about in town, not at work, it is a Swiss Champ, carried in the coin pocket of my jeans. But, in this pandemic, I am living in my dad's farm for a few days. At that time, I have a belt with a Ledlenser fashlight, a Forester, the same Swiss Champ, and a Muela tactical knife. Here, if I am working on a mini-project, I will also carry a tool kit that has a Ranger Imprint, a ratchet wrench for standard Bosch screwdriver bits, and this Swiss Tool Spirit in it's sheath it came with that has a brilliant rotating belt-clip. But these are only in this farm. This Ranger Imprint is my use-abuse-practice tool. So, I keep it for where I need to cut a lot, or use that file on metal. I would like to not have to use the file on that Swiss Champ. When we were working in my corporate office and not at home before the pandemic hit, it used to be an S557 in the pocket, and a Cybertool Lite and that Ranger Imprint in the backpack. Yeah, I carry heavy, and a lot. I don't mind it. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 220 lbs., I will never admit to anything more sensible such as cutting down how much I would carry cause, ego...LOL. My choice of tools is based on where I am at the time, and what I might need, no matter how small the chance. And, because I am a fan of these tools, and love fidgeting with them. So, what I am saying may not be as useful for almost everyone else.

I have also carried a Huntsman for many years and probably it is more than I need daily. But I find the large and small knife blades, the scissors, and the screwdriver are used almost daily. Oh yeah, also the toothpick. My only complaint is that the spring return in the scissors is frequently needing adjustment to keep it between the scissor halves. I wear cargo pants most of the time (I’m retired) with a knife pocket so the size of the Huntsman is no problem. For other trousers I use a belt sheath. When the presence of the Huntsman elicits comment, I note that my age makes me a product of a generation in which boys routinely carried pocket knives from a very early age.

Yeah I think the climber hit the sweet spot in the SAK line up, it 3 layers is slim enough for most people, the cockscrew may seem useless but it can hold another small screwdriver for glass if you want to, and the can opener have the small slot that work well on a regular Phillips head, so no need of a dedicated Phillips tool like the Tinker

My dad carried a Swiss Champion (the 80's model) from the time I was born until he passed away in 2012. From him I learnt the usefulness of these wonderful tools, so in 2006 I bought myself a Huntsman, which fifteen years later I still always carry. I had it "updated/improved" to a Hunstman Plus when buying those scales, so it now it also has the small, flat screwdriver, the pin and the pen. I regularly carry around a ballpoint pen to write notes and things, but when it is an emergency, I can always trust on the pen my Swiss Army Knife has to get me out of the situation I'm in. Last December I bought a Swiss Soldier 08 knife, and that's what I'm using when I have to wear a suit. Its more subdued colours and focused tools (it doesn't have the scissors, pen, tweezers or toothpick) are more suited for a serious and professional occasion where a tool could still be needed.

I used the small SAKs for a long time and even wore one out so that the spring was worn enough to break. Those are great knives. I wanted a bigger blade and scissors. The Pioneer X is perfect. Without the suspension clip the Pioneer X is too heavy and uncomfortable with some of my trousers. Keep up the good work. Your videos are excellent and you represent a superb company.

I carry an old Victorinox Automobile model which was secondhand when I was given it in the 1970's. It's a bit beaten up now but I'm very attached to it. I made a leather pouch for it from a Seydel harmonica pouch to keep it from wearing out my pocket. An old and valued friend.

The pin in the corkscrew hole is very useful for poking & prying small crevices as well as popping the occasional blister. I also added 2 rare earth magnets that fit between the saw & scissors. Excellent to turn the pin into a compass needle. Mostly to add to a screw driver to hold small screws. Put it on the end of the saw to lift the lid on my stainless steel cooking pot. Another useful add is a needle with about 2’ of dental floss. Great for emergency repairs. This fits nicely below the wood saw. I have also added a couple pieces waxed jute to the corkscrew for an excellent fire starter & lubricant. Lastly I made a lanyard with about 4’ of paracord. Always nice to have extra cordage. I use it often to bundle wood then use the parcel hook for a handle. Just a few of your tips that I have used while venturing in the outdoors. There are still many more to try. Thank you so much for your inspiration!

I carry Spartan for 7 years and it never let me down :) i don't need scissors (mostly anything can be cut with a blade) and i'm a big fan of the small blade (for fixing mistakes on the paper). But since your channel evoked a love to carving in me, I want to have SwissChamp for hikes and carving :-) Greetings from Czech republic!

Makes sense to me. The best EDC is what works for your environment. When the environment changes, the EDC choice changes. I carry a MiniChamp all the time, plus either an Explorer at home (handy for quick things, but I'm in a house full of tools so don't need a lot in my pocket) or a SwissChamp when I'm out or working in the yard and need to be more self-sufficient. Thank you for the videos, Felix. Always informative and entertaining!

Thanks for sharing a little of your daily with us Felix and yes, it was quite a surprise. My EDC is the Explorer, primarily because of the inline Philips screwdriver that I use so often at work, as an Engineer. Many times I have turned up and fixed a photocopier with my Explorer, a cloth and some cleaning fluid. Lately though, I have been putting my hand sanitiser to use as a cleaning fluid instead of carrying the extra bottle. I also use the magnifying glass very often too.

Felix, I really enjoy your videos! Your positive demeanor and enthusiasm and knowledgeable presentation is infectious! My EDC knife for the last 30+ years is the classic SD. It is small, light weight, unobtrusive, and attaches to my key ring which makes it impossible for me to forget! I have recently switched to a rambler which is only slightly larger but adds a tool with 3 functions (Phillips SD, cap opener, and wire stripper). The most used tool for me has been the scissors. My back-up knife, which I keep in my car and sometimes carry, is a Wenger. It has the same tools and size as the Victorinox Sportsman. Next favorite, but not EDC, is the Deluxe Tinker which is great for an urban environment and because of its larger size I would put that In my car or briefcase.

Hi Zapnes, I carry a blue Spartan. I like its simplicity and thin profile in my Pocket. Plus it has the normal sized blades for a whole range of uses. If the knife blades are sharp you dont need scissors at all. So I like your choice.

The Mini Champ lives in my pocket every day. I have many models of Victorinox knives for various needs... but the Mini Champ has lived in my pocket for 30 years. The scales are showing their age, the metal outlined logo fell off and was lost more than 10 years ago... but, this little knife serves me well, and I just tied up a brand new lanyard for it.

You are just a wonderful person. I really enjoyed your video. I so understand everything you said and really agree with your choice fully. Thank you Felix. I hope your channel grows and grows as so many people get to enjoy your work. Thanks man! All the best to you. Almost forgot, I usually carry a Victorinox Solo Alox (Swiss Army 1) as it gives a large blade but in a very thin package. This means in my trousers pocket for work it just melts away and is so easy to carry I can forget it's there. I think I will look into this Victorinox Signature Lite as a pen and torch would be very handy. Thanks

I have a Fieldmaster as my EDC in my back pocket, retired my former back pocket EDC, a Camper, into a side pocket on my "possibles bag" which goes into my truck whenever I go into the mountains (Virginia/West Virginia) or in whichever vehicle I use in winter weather, an Alox Pioneer in my range bag, and a Rambler on my keychain -- once used extensively in IT troubleshooting situations. My oldest granddaughter just got her first SAK and now has a link to your channel. Your channel is very enjoyable.

I love this! Absolutely love it. The honesty of it all. I've carried a Classic SD on my keyring for as long as I can remember must be something like 20 years now. It has done everything I've ever needed it for. I carried a bantam for years thinking I needed the bigger blade but its bulk meant I often would leave it on a table or shelf with my keys, so it was never with me when I needed it. My classic SD is so small as to be unnoticeable and it is there for me, every time. A signature lite would be a nice upgrade with the pen and flashlight but my classic SD was a personalised gift for me and its more than a knife now, as it has sentimental value so as its still a really good knife it will always remain on my person.

Thank you for the honest feedback on EDC knives. Each person’s daily routine dictates what tool is most useful. While I have great respect for SAK’s, and keep one in my desk, my EDC is a Leatherman Micra, which I have carried for about seventeen years. Why? Because it the most useful in my day- to-day situation. I will have to admit, however, that the knife you showed on this video is tempting. The Micra has neither flashlight or pen.

The cadet. I used to carry the super tinker for years. As I got older I now carry a main fixed blade on the belt and the cadet in the pocket. I also carry a bag full of tools basically everywhere I go. I’d have to say the cadet comes in handy more than any other Swiss army I’ve had. Super thin and light. I also carry a dedicated flashlight.
