I love "cooking" my Lethal Arrow's cast-time within the charge-time of my Heavy Attacks. With both of them hitting within a fraction of a second from one another, most basic mobs will appear to be one-shot. And it takes maybe 3-4 cycles of just this combo to drop most elite mobs. Of course, that's with Swamp Raiders & Stygian and coming out of stealth / using Shadowy Disguise to cheese the Stygian buff. When you use Lethal Arrow (or anything with that 0.8 sec cast time) this way, you'll never have to worry about sustain. This video was encouraging! Nice to see things finally balancing-out, at least in this respect.

From what i understood, weapons are at an all time closeness in comparison to one another, and we can now switch between melee and ranged , and different types of melee and different ranged based not only on situation, but also on preference. This is pretty great!

Great Video, though you could've just started out by saying. "If you're here looking for the best frontbar, the answer is to just pick the one you like most, and play best." Sometimes, just putting the information in the front, is great, I'd totally have given this a thumbs up if you did more frontloading, and less waiting until the last minute to give conclusions ^_^

@@LazloArcadia crit chance is generally the strongest stat for pve so daggers are usually best. If you need more pen, maces are good. I use them sometimes too

Would it be… bad or stupid if I switch to a bow or Dual Wield for my Templar, for example? Not sure how weapons work with specific class types.

Front bar is just where you spend more of your time. Backbar is where you generally have a few dots/utility abilities.

I see you rating end game weapons, I’m sure veterans player pretty much know this. I think you should rate weapons at starting to end game weapons to be fair. Good content skinny, keep it up.

For most part this all translates to beginner setups. Just remove any Arena Weapons and mimic the setup without one. The problem is that there are no "special weapons" for new players to care about, its same weapon choices just seen in your full 5 piece. For example they might pick up BSW/Sorrow. This would likely be Sorrow on body and BSW weapons. Backbar BSW Fire with Fire Wall, and Frontbar Bow/Daggers/Lightning. If they put a Fire Glyph on front then between back and Frontbar they can eadily proc BSW.

Thanks! But yeah as feralomen said, there really isn’t anything more to compare for “starting” setups. And these arena weapons can be earned on normal difficulties which you can do very early on! Hope that helps

Im gonna reverse my current set up on my arc and see how that goes. Inferno front bar and black rose backbar so i can keep deadly cloak. If that evens itself out while letting me go range on top of it. Super worth it.

I agree. With this setup, you get to keep the Major Evasion, and the 6% damage boost & reduction from BRP, while getting frontbar enchant and ulti gen procs from light attacks even at range. I suspect that dual staves (Maelstrom backbar) is better for AOE though.

Just make sure if you do that, you are hitting something with that cloak every 2s or your buff will fall off.

i tried this update to use the Lightning staff on Magplar but i always ended with like 10k less DPS how is that possible if the % only shows like 1-3% dmg loss compared to daggers? i think the loss of the 780 WD is so much higher than some % of my dmg boosted by 12%

Depends on the fight and how you are setup. It could be. But could be setups where lightning is better too

Nope. Poisoned is a named effect and you can’t have two going at once

​​@@catzel1ps452this video is from the perspective of PvE DPS, not PvP. Skinny is a PvE player, so keep that context in mind. Enchants (outside Oblivion) all do the same damage, the status effects are different. Burning deals the most DPS over 4 seconds. Poisoned deals slightly less DPS, but lasts 6 seconds. Those 2 status effects are always just the best options for straight DPS, when you're thinking about PvP it gets more complicated and nuanced. Hemorrhaging (Bleed DMG) is also a 4s dot, deals the least DPS of the dots, however it reduces your enemies HP by 10%. The last 5 regular damage types all deal the exact same DMG, they're all upfront direct, instead of dot, so lower DPS, but added effects. The effects are all 4s long. Concussed (Shock DMG) also gives +5% damage done. Chilled (Frost DMG) also reduces their damage by 5%. Diseased (Disease DMG) reduces healing taken and HP Regen. Sundered (physical DMG) reduces armor by 3k. Overcharged (magic DMG) applies minor Magicka steal. Lastly, you have Oblivion damage. This is only ever useful for PVP and is primarily used to counter tanks because it scales based on their health and deals true DMG. Meaning, it works through shields, can't crit, but can't be mitigated either.

Even before U39, I have a bow/bow stam warden that I use on vet DLC trials. I use it particularly in vCR because you have to attack a number of targets at range. My prog group does request that we all have a range build we can bring in for certain trials or load out we can switch to in some fights. Personally, I find I do better with ranged builds in content than melee builds. More of a personal thing for me in that I just feel a bit more comfortable when I have better ranged capability.

How much the dps loss would be at highest parse levels? I want to keep my rotation static and enless hail not having 20 sec duration ruins it. Btw i use masters bow backbar

They are each better in diff scenarios. If you mean on the dummy, charged is generally better there. Usually a bit better for single target dmg when your blade cloak is getting all its ticks off to proc your enchantments

I use dual wield on FB and maelstorm bow on backbar. still works very good. endless hail aoe is great in pve

I still use Dual Wield Front Bar and 2Handed VMA Greatsword Back Bar, and still hit above 100k+ DPS as an Imperial. I sometimes swap to VMA Bow for different scenarios, like Castle Thorn, where you cannot target Lady Thorn when she floats around with Stampede.

i don't know, for my liking the damage-potential difference between ranged and melee weapons is to small. if I give up the savety and consistency of ranged weapons and go melee focused I should be rewarded with a bigger damage increase.

Ideally, they do the most damage: when there are 4 enemies clumped up for forceful passives. It essentially can do 4x the light attack damage of the other weapons. Also carve is a really nice damage skill that can protect you in ways Deadly Cloak can't.
