I used these with the Team Catfish weight slides to make a kzbin.infoUgkxdmsDj7fQXe77DC0l7P7ua8B3PiESUubM Carolina rig and they were perfect for the ponds I fish. I have also used them to make 3 way rigs and these work perfectly. Haven't had any issues with them snagging in rocks or in weeds yet.

Lindy sinker. Been using Northland tackle for close to 35 years. One of the best on the market.

I use rig rap sinker sliders for catfish. Put them on and off the line without retying

Guys, dont take for granted where you grew up. In illinois i fight water conditions on the very few walleye waters. The mississippi seems to stay flooded most every year. Remember visibility is quite different down here. My state lake with hybrid saugeye has an additude problem. Trust me, no normal tactic works here. Its feast or famine. Great vid!

I keep it Simple and just use the Slick stick. I change to lighter or heavier slick sticks. I don't like the plastic slider , because the cleat hook wears, bends, deforms... from changing stuff . I use a Coil spring spinner blade quick change, and a bead at both ends, to keep the line centered in the little coil, and relieve stress. Just my Take.

I guess I’ve only ever used various weights of bottom bouncers depending on depth and how snaggy the lake is.

Boat speed and current are also part of that equation 👍

Thanks for the video. I'm not trying to be smart, but why shouldn't I just use variously weighted bottom bouncers? What are the advantages or more importantly disadvantages? Are the larger bottom bouncers more likely to spook the fish? Thanks again!

Love your channel! Question.. in your opinion is it best to tie the braided line directly to the bottom bouncer or would a snap swivel do the job without spinning the line. Here on Lake Erie in Michigan so many people have different opinions what's yours?
@gerardhaubert82104 жыл бұрын
John Resor I always use a swivel
@dbrownsd5 жыл бұрын
I'm just starting to get into using some of these techniques, why would you use the clevis over just using a snap swivel and connecting directly to that with the weight?
@codyschulte1035 жыл бұрын
dbrownsd it’s a situation where a snap swivel will promote spinning of the rig/weight; a snap will allow the presentation to track straight without rolling over on itself

FORGOT TO EXPLAIN IF YOUR FISHING SAY DETROIT RIVER WHERE THE DEPTH CHANGES RAPIDLY ALWAYS USE 10 LB BRAID ON A 3 OUNCE BOT BOUNCER NEVER PUTrod DOWN HOLD IN HANDS SO you can feel the vibration of touching the bot pull slowly once in while the bastards follow alot 2..close eye on on depth finder y0u might have to let out 10 feet then reel in 10 feet .. no 3.. always use a floating spinner 4\ when buying a spinner get big round col blades and 20 lb test florocarbon and remake your own make about 18 to 20 inches only . and 1 hook only .. dont be cheap use a whole crawler ,,we have a wholesale company here 50$ for 40 dozen .so look for one ..the most important thing is learning bottom bouncing is an art but never ever go out with less then 5 to 10 dozen in a cooler ..its a long way back 8 miles out in lake erie or 6 miles down the river . trust me when learning your going to get alot of unwanted fish ,bass out of season white perch sivers and yes catfish

Thanks for tips ,when should you start bottom bouncing over jigging Detroit river,
@davidhazen23944 жыл бұрын
Can you use this method casting or do you have to drift fish?
@gerardhaubert82104 жыл бұрын
David Hazen no, you’d never cast a bottom bouncer. Just drop it over the side until the tip touches bottom

Although this video is great and really informative I wish some of these pro's would realize that most guys do not have the fancy and expensive side scan sonar and spot lock tech that is provided for them free of charge by sponsors. Personally I have a regular downward facing Lowrance sonar/gps on my boat and a really good 84lb thrust Motorguide trolling motor. I would love to replace this gear with the more up to date equipment but like most people I can't afford to mortgage my house to buy it. All I ask is a bit more realistic approach and acknowledgement of the average persons technological shortcomings.
