Annerley Gordon was the voice behind Whigfield up until 2012 and Sannie just mimed. Now Sannie does the vocals on all Whigfield tracks since 2012 (the “W” album is brilliant) and performs all the old hits with her own voice used.

Thanks for your comment. Ann Lee has publicly stated she did not contribute even backing vocals for Whigfield. Her vocal style is high-pitched and nothing like Sannie. You need to witness the video of Close To You from Top of the Pops in 1995 which proves Sannie sang live in front of a studio audience who were scrutinising her from a few feet away. This proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that Sannie was the voice of Whigfield.

I’m a big fan of the Whigfield project, BUT it bothers me that Annerley Gordon does not get any credit for the Whigfield voice the fans know and love. I guess we’ll never know the full truth, but I really hope it’s Annerley’s choice not to perform Whigfield songs. If she is restricted for legal restrictions after all this time, to me that seems incredibly unfair. This is a great performance though, and I’m glad Sannie is keeping the project alive

Heighten the pitch of sannies voice and it's the voice of the original release. Annerley wrote the lyrics with Davide riva, that's her only input. Sannie has posted many Instagram pics of her gold certifications for her sales of Saturday night, the awards were awarded to sannie carlson, not annerley. This whole annerley conspiracy has no substance or evidence of truth

@OCaradaTI Me too!!!! It's Annerley's voice that made the song to be as huge as it was. If Sannie had originally recorded it, I doubt it would've had the same impact. Many people think that the success is all due to Sannie but what they forget is that 'Saturday Night' was already a hit way before she joined Whigfield, it was when that track became a hit that they hired her to become the face of the project. If the song had flopped, she would've never been there in the first place.
