Great setup. I love the wire through the bubble and the ring for changing from float to lure. I will be trying this.

Genius! I didn't see the advantage of setting up the bubble like that until you swapped out the rig for your lure. Good idea!

I like your system Shane. Really cool and really efficient. They make a thing called a “power clip”. You could use it in place of the split ring. They work much easier and you could switch back and forth from lures to tuff bubbles without needing to get the split ring pliers out. Thank you for your videos man and best of luck!!! Mahalo!!!

I set up mine almost the same but use Ika Line (#30-50) instead of wire. Tactical Anglers power clips instead of split rings. Mahalo for sharing!

unk why not braid to swivel above hammerbomb why extra knot ,extra line.straight braid to swivel to bubble then 3ft 15lb mono.sf style!!
@skainoa Жыл бұрын
It’s a short rub line. Sometimes the bubble gets hung up on the reef. Also, if I wanted to switch to a lure I just remove the bubble and attach a lure. Rub line is already spliced to the main line (braid).

Mahalo for the video! Does your FG knot run through your eyes at all?
@skainoa2 жыл бұрын
Not usually because I get better distance on the cast if it’s not running through, but if I’m fishing a spot that I know has lots of ledges I might run a longer leader that goes through the guides. Mahalo for watching🤙🏽

Do you ever put stuff inside the bubble float to make it rattle and attract predatory fish? What do you think about that?Heard it was good and am trying it right now but no luck yet. Thanks
@skainoa3 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard of some doing that but never tried it myself. I’ve heard the rattling attracts the predators. Gotta give it a try sometime.

With this set up, how heavy are the plugs you run?
@skainoa3 жыл бұрын
This one I throw 40-50g plugs. I believe a large tough bubble filled with water is around 56g

What do you do to get the heads on your flies so balanced and round? Been using Solarez UV but my heads often come out lumpy or uneven.
@skainoa3 жыл бұрын
I use Solarez UV thick. I usually spin the fly slowly for a few seconds after applying the resin to let it even out then I hit it with the UV light.

Can you just run straight braid to the bubble or need mono leader?
@skainoa3 жыл бұрын
You can run just braid through the bubble but after a while the braid will begin to fray from the bubble sliding up and down on it. Mono will take the rubbing much, much better.

You can use Marlin stainless steel wire. They sell it at Walmart and local fishing stores.

Howzit Shane. Great video! What tool do you use for tie your wire?
@skainoa3 жыл бұрын
Mahalos for watching!!! I use 2 Vice Grip pliers to hold and twist the wire. Round Nose plier to make the loops and cutting pliers.

@@skainoa Thanks! Do you happen to have the diameter of the wire you use? Alot of wire packaging doesn't have a gauage number.
@skainoa3 жыл бұрын
I use a 20 gauge wire. .045 diameter. I’ve also used the Marlin wire I got from fishing supply store or even Walmart. It’s a little smaller diameter, #17 gauge .039 diameter but will definitely do the job.

@skainoa I use stainless steel instead of the 20 ga. Also 10 mm acrylic beads as a noise maker and protect the bubble from your crimps

@@ferdinandh5103 That’s 20 gauge stainless steel wire. Wouldn’t think of using any other wire than ss in salt water. Lol

@skainoa try the hot glue trick. It cast further than water and won't break when you hit rocks

@@ferdinandh5103 Everything you can do to a tough bubble I’ve tried. Filled it with resin, bb’s, glow resin powder, polyurethane, glitter, stickers…the list goes on…I always go back to just using water. I don’t know, I just run the wire through and fill it with water and it’s been working. Check out my videos🤙🏽
