I have the same issue. There was some problem with the switch like I had to press strongly on the switch to turn it on. Gradually the machine is not turning on. I dont have a multimeter with me, but I have a solder with me. Can I just blindly remove the switch thinking that the issue is with the switch. Also, why did you use the jumper ? While changing the switch, did you break any circuit?

Yes there's a crack in the circuit.. You must have a multimeter tester if you going to fix to check the continuety after changing any parts.
