I don't know how old my dryer was. It is exactly the same as yours but the motherboard looked new. No dust at all. I noticed one of the solder was loose so I filled it in. It works great now. Taking it apart took about 10 minutes max. Pretty easy job. I had the F1 error. Where it powers on and all the controls work but after pressing the start button, nothing happens.

Nice video. Good advice worked like a champ. I'd tested many components before concluding it was the board. Couldn't afford a new board. Was contemplating shipping it to one those repair for $39 places. Then couple days later apparently Googles system ran your video on a ad and it came up on my fb. Wild! Hey saved me $$$$. Thanks Buddy.

My board is perfect. My pulley looks fine. I see no burns anywhere. Theres a tiny white switch? under the pulley bar. Will that control power if its not working correctly? When I press start it only clicks. My belts are good. My fuses are good. Thermal and door switch good.

Hello! Great video. Followed the video, added the wire and did exactly what you did. Once I plugged in the dryer, it started running continuously. It only stopped once I opened the dryer door. Power turns on, still made clicking noise once I selected a cycle and started it. Wonder what that means?
@masterofnone8065

Check how you routed the wire. That is the relay control. It sounds like you shorted out the relay so it's always on and running. That will burn things up in a hurry. Good luck!

@masterofnone8065
@masterofnone8065 Жыл бұрын
I would take an extra close look at the tracks running from the relay to the plug. Those are the tracks that I'm repairing at 2:29. They burn out in the oddest of places. It could be a bad relay as well. Mine ended up failing a year after this repair and I had to replace the relay itself. Here is the video for that -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWOun3Zjm7dobqM

@@masterofnone8065 thanks, upon examining the board under a magnifying glass, i can see all contacts and traces are 100% clean. and because I hear a "click" when starting it, the relay may be ok or is it... even if it clicks?

@@ChronicKPOP The next thing to check would be the belt. Pop the dryer apart and see if the belt has broken or come off. I had this problem on this same dryer (before I started my channel) where the idler pulley seized up, then burnt through the belt.

Is there special precautions that need to be taken due to concern for static discharge damaging the circuitry?
@masterofnone8065
@masterofnone8065 2 жыл бұрын
It's pretty rugged circuitry, but it's always best to 'ground' yourself before touching any electronics. The screw holding a light switch cover plate on it always a good ground in all modern houses.

my cabrio will start but stay at sensing with no motor. I've replaced the fuse and thermister. I have the same dryer. It spins and heats fine but was making a rumbling/humming noise during the drying cycle. With the dryer off it makes the same noise when you manually spin the drum. During the cycle today it made a loud thump and now won’t start. The dryer will turn on and I can hear the click when I press start but I won’t start the cycle. Any idea of what it could be ?
@masterofnone8065
@masterofnone8065 2 жыл бұрын
Your idler pulley likely seized up and blew the belt out. I didn't have a channel when I replaced that last on mine. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RZJ282S/ This is the one I used. You'll need to take the dryer apart and see if the belt is still intact and usable. (it may have just slipped off when the idler fully gave out).

@@atclb2356 Cool. Mine sounded like it was running, but wasn't actually spinning. At this point its one of two things. The heating element isn't working or the vent is completely plugged. If you move it away from the wall you can check the vent out of the house and make sure its clean, and check the venting up into the dryer and make sure that is clean too. You can also run the dry with the vent hose disconnected for a moment to a) make sure it was exhausting properly and b) see if the exhaust air is in fact warm/hot.
