Great suggestion to look under the oven bed (by taking out the bottom drawer) to reconnect spark igniter. First video said to do it all in the oven...made for reconnecting the spark igniter iffy, resulting in poor connection at the first attempt. Thank you!

FYI: I ordered a new igniter but decided to clean the old one with a metal file and it worked perfect again. Just file both the wire tip and the ground tip. I'll keep the new one for a spare when it gets delivered...

Could it still be an igniter issuer if the igniter sparks, oven lights for a few seconds, then shuts the gas off an tries again a few times. It seems as if it fails to detect that it is lit. Sometimes it will get up to temperature and then during cooking it will start to do this and then lose temperature. It seems to especially like to do this during holidays for some reason when the oven is more in use, then work fine again for months. Great video BTW!

Hi Tom, This oven has a problem of the spark igniter having a bad ground connection. You can try tightening the bolts that hold the burner tube to the frame. I think there’s a retrofit kit Whirlpool has to fix the ground problem.

Hi scot i got a gas range kitchenaid. Oven stuck on preheating. Bottom & top burners do not come on at all no clicks either. Just the top element works when its on broil. I was wondering if its the igniter spark module or a bad burner igniter

I would change the igniter, When they get weak they’ll work for a while but shut off prematurely.

Hi Brian, Sometimes when a spark module is going bad, it will send energy to some of the other burners, but won’t send power to one or two of the burners that aren’t lighting

My glow igniter is working well. I do not get gas to my gas tube unless I turn on a stovetop burner. What's a solution for that? The instant I turn on a burner, gas flows and ignites to the oven.

How does the igniter end connect to the wire? Mine just has the wire but not connection like some of the other igniter tpes

Hi Randy, Usually you use a ceramic wire nut to connect the wire from the igniter to the power wire from the oven.

There was no wire, just the flat piece on the ignitor, but I just used an electrical connector. The oven ignties after replacing, but it still won't stay lit. What next? Any ideas? Broil is working and burners are working.

I literally was starting to watch this video and something inside of me said unplug my oven and count to 25. And then I plugged it back in and it started to work. We had a power outage out yesterday and so I knew something from that had triggered something in the stove for the oven not to work hope this works for someone else.
