Just found this video to help diagnose issue on my washer. Belt was loose, different cause though. The locking ring on the motor shaft came loose on mine and the shaft dropped out of position so the electromagnet no longer functioned (no spin or agitate). Popped off the motor and opened it up, realigned everything and clamped the locking ring back into it's correct position. Good to go after reassembly.

Wish you lived closer. I would put you on the payroll. I need a good handyman. Cool thing most don't understand most manufacturers are interchangeable with these style machines. I have a tenant who fixes these machines for a living. Great hussle on his behalf

I have a whirlpool ultimate care ii changed lid switch, agitator, clutch, motor coupling, water drain pump, agitator dogs, all went good, started ok. The after spinning NOTHING! what should I look for, do I need to remove all again? Where does this belt belongs? No video for my kind of washing machine replacing this belt.

Mine has a smooth plastic pulley I have the identical waging machine did they change to a grooved plastic pulley

Mine the lock nut fell off and the nylon gear scored the shield as the big gear would have come off if not for it. My belt is still new after many years ! Have you ever removed your agitator ? It comes out from the top and there’s a bunch of coins under it. That I bet will burn a belt That’s also just as easy to fix ! Mine was full of polished Dimes !! And that nut was loose. Seems like two of the most critical nuts were loose from factory.

The nut holding the motor pulley up has worked loose and it’s also stripped out so I can’t take it off. I’ve tried pushing the pulley wheel up to engage the gears to get the nut off but it still free spins. Any suggestions?

This was super helpful! Thank you! Would you be able to answer a question? We replaced the belt and started to hear the problem again within a couple days. When we looked under, the belt had cut through the cover. Any idea what’s going on?

Was the pulley loose? If so you can get some locktight on the bolt. If it’s just the belt you may need to replace the drum springs. They might be warm out causing the drum to push the pulley into the ground.

Not sure I haven’t gad to replace the motor pulley before it may need a new motor if that’s your issue

Well it could of gotten flung off and thrown through the plastic slots or it completely got shredded.

Yea you do need the cover. When the load gets weighted down that pillow could be on the ground.

Not sure. However it’s plastic so unless you heat it up and reshape it I don’t think you can really do much.

I had that Same issue at one point. You will need to get a shop vac and suck the water out or scoop it out.
