The uptiering phenomenon you mention is similar to that which turns the British Danae at Tier IV - hardy, useful, survivable oversized destroyer - into the horror that is the Emerald at Tier V. In most other ways, the two ships are very similar - not the same design by all means, but only incrementally different. If not for her smoke and heal, and the ability to do really horrid things to you with torps at close range, the Emerald would be almost unplayable; if the Danae had smoke, she'd be OP.

Yup, welcome to WoWs and the match making! :( On the upside, it turned T7 matches into something worth a dang since T7 used to be THE WORST tier in the game! Now it's T5 which is far less painful than T7 grinds were!

I loved the Balti... and as such, i'm wondering how the ship, that will replace it with the huge USN Cruiser update this year (Hopefully), will handle.

Hopefully the only loss she gets is the loss of her ROF module as I REALLY think she'll be a fantastic T8 in her current form. If they keep the heal, she'll be even better as she will retain her trollish durability too! :)

KGV/Duke/Scharnhorst are the only battleships you can survive against. KGV/Duke of York will probably just burn you tho. I skipped this ship and figured I'd get the Henri - the ultimate in toasted baguette throwing. It shoots bigger baguettes...

Yeah and I'm not sure I fully understand the reasoning behind the "meh" performance of St. Louis in my hands. With the reload module, you'd think you'd be converting damage to kills left and right but it just isn't so! :(

Especially considering how close it is to CM which we held in such high esteem. Funny how it's the highest performing T9 in win rate and damage. I skipped it because I thought it was a continuation of CM.

Aww, was just about to kind of grind the French cruiser line...but if we get this kind of turd at T9 I'm not so sure anymore xD. Might continue the soviet line instead. *edit* but to be fair since all French cruisers should be played very passively so, might be OK anyway. We'll see ^^. Very used to being super careful from my Kutuzov anyway. Eats citadels for days as soon as a battleship even attempts to peek at me :P.

Yeah it's a definite struggle to keep from eating massive citadel hits all the time, but the ship does have some strengths. It's just a matter of playing to them on maps that are NOT friendly to it!

just no major improvement and you get worse battle condition because of the higher tier. two Tier share similar or same gun is in my opinion, not a good idea. like Furu and Aoba, Kberg and Nberg.

The French cruiser line is trash, and i only go up this line because i like the way the French cruiser line looks aint that crazy (o,O). What is very bad at the Saint-Louis anno feb 2021. The nerve of anti aircraft fire. So over the whole line of the Saint-Louis. You get very bad artillery, movement and concealment and bad bad armour. I put the Christmas camo on this ship(seems have an excellent effect on incoming fire). And play in Coop mode mostly for better grinding. Over 300.000 grinding for Henry IV -,-. O and the cherry on top of the whipped cream is the credit drain this ship does. Yes yes i know other ships have the same issue. But the point i make here its hard to earn enough cash to sustain gameplay.
