Why the hell this isn't regarded as a true American classic is beyond me. I am still fascinated by this work of art. The original cast along with the band is a wonder to behold. I must love these people because it grabs ahold of my head and my heart every time I watch it. Thanks Stew and everyone involved.

I'm so sad this show hasn't received a fraction of the attention that Hamilton has, and it's so, so great. Should have run for years on end and been seen by everyone, but rarely does really original greatness of this ilk resonate with a large number of people. So great that its been immortalized on film, though.

What's really cool is that college programs already regard it as a musical classic, and take so many lessons away from this show.

Sometimes I forget that this show exists. When I remember it I kick myself many times for forgetting about something so good.

The guy playing the piano is the guy that has done percussion for Elton John's band for years...Heidi Rodewald is just simply amazing, and I've loved Stew since Clinton was President....LOVE YOU and I love this amazing piece of work!

Saddest song in a play ever!!! Listened to this song like 100 times... and everytime I shed tears.

Which is interesting because it unfairly lost to 'In the Heights' on biggest tony awards, winning at some of the smaller shows, and unfortunetly thats how a lot of people hear about a show is how much it's won.

@tenebrae23 It is...it just isn't old enough to be an "American Classic". Most of those are from the 40's. In about 60 years this will be looked down on as one of the greatest musicals ever written.

I saw Passing strains 10 times combined in workshops in Palo Alto and Berkeley before it went to Broadway but I just realized that at 8:30 above There is a song that was from the album called something deeper than these changes which came out right before stew and Heidi started negotiating with public theater New York; I recommend the statue songs from that album is somewhat Steamatic or intone presaging the Broadway breakthrough
