Hi just started watching your videos there excellent. I’m a Scotsmen JWblue label is excellent stuff. I worked in a glass bottle factory that made the bottles for the blue label and you wouldn’t believe the steps taken to insure every bottle is flawless the blue colouring and thickness of the glass is very hard to achieve and unfortunately it’s the main reason a 70cl bottle will set you back anywhere from £130 to £150 Now don’t get me wrong I’m a sucker for presentation I would love it if JW just used cheaper bottles and sold the blue labe at around about £90-£100 it would still be very expensive for me personally but I could push the boat out know and again 😂 Love and peace from Bonny Scotland 🏴 slàinte 🥃
@magnumopus16282 жыл бұрын
I was thinking precisely about how the coloring is made. I assume the coloring is only on the outer surface of the bottle, in order to avoid the coloring impacting on the whiskey itself... But yeah, I would also buy it more often if it were a little bit less expensive due to a normal and clear bottle. Also, I would love to visit Scotland, there's something magical about your country. I hope I'll manage to do that in the not so distant future. I would honestly love to visit Ireland and Wales too, funny enough the region I'm less attracted to is England. For some reason. 😅 May I ask, in what type of relations you Scots are with Ireland and Wales? Cheers from Milan, Italy. 🇮🇹
@onlyhereforddebob89782 жыл бұрын
I come from a family of Irish immigrants so I have great relations with them. The Welsh are good lads to. The Scot’s Welsh and Irish are all Celts we bong over a common hatred of the English 😂
@LondonGooner6 күн бұрын
@onlyhereforddebob8978 don't really find that the Scottish generally like the English never been more welcome as going to Scotland. I'm from a Irish family but English from London and most Irish are just bitter and jealous that their life is poor they blame everyone else like the blacks. Meanwhile the Scottish was inventing stuff along with the English the scotch and English invented over 40% of the world's inventions.

There are several decent Johnnies for the price - Black is fantastic for as little as $27. Green is a blended malt and excellent for about $43. And I really like the 18 for its caramel, smoke and butterscotch. Blue clearly has very old whisky and is interesting, but I agree with others here that at $150 it's not a good value. If it had a 21 year age statement or more I'd give it more credit. And I love the slick mouthfeel. It's well put together. But when you can get Talisker 18 (and a hundred others) for less, you just can't justify it.

I know it’s crazy still $320 after the COVID, I guess they haven’t been selling all that much otherwise price would have gone up. I just get them at duty free. $98USD in 2005 in HK and then $129.00USD in Chicago in 2012. I still haven’t opened them. lol.

This goes for $600 to over $1000 in Australia. I've only had this once and we accidentally drank it. It was totally worth the trouble lol.
