Another great year, another great list of top notch pours! Hazelburn has been bottling absolutely epic stuff, perhaps better than Springbank?? Nah, but very close. Cheers brother!

Brilliant Rob, what a list! Your number is beautiful whisky but it's just impossible to find anymore. Hopefully they'll release more and more of this range where it will be easier to get our hands on. Roll on 2025 for bigger and better whiskies!

Cheers my friend. I have a feeling it will get easier to find.

Meike Tour Turbo is a great pick! Outstanding stuff. My favorites this year: Port Charlotte 18, Speymalt 2004, Bunna 21 CS, Cairdeas 24 and Turbo.

Great pick based on your experience with the Turbo Rob! I managed to get Meikle Toir Chinquapin and it's opened up nicely over the last couple of months. Wish you a merry Christmas Rob!

Not much of that Turbo came to Canada, and when it did, it was gone fast. Hoping for the next batch to come out soon. In fact less than 10 cases of it was shipped to Canada.

Heard only great things about that Meikle Toir Turbo! Unfortunately, you probably have a better chance of finding a Springbank before you find one of those. In the end, that Bruichladdich 18 is probably the easiest to find, and at a decent price for an 18 year old of that quality. You’re right about Lagavulin 12 though. I’m actually starting to see them sitting on the shelf in our liquor stores. And speaking of great peated whisky, have you tried the Port Charlotte 18? That’s another one that never even hit the shelves in my area.
@WhiskyInThe62 күн бұрын
Never got to try the PC18 unfortunately

Merry Christmas Rob! 🎄 Thanks for another great video and run down. I am firmly in the MT Turbo fan boy camp. That stuff is incredible and is my no 1 of 2024 too. It's not as heavily peated, but to those that can't get the Turbo do try the McNair's 10 yr old CS. That's a banger too, from the Billy Walker stable and much easier to find. Slainte 🥃

Nice for sure that you can obtain these and I'm sure you are aware but it's ironic that not one of your 12 bottle picks are available here in Onterrible, not one! Cheers, Merry Christmas

Thank God for Alberta shippers. Bought the other 3 miekle Toirs but couldn’t get the Turbo. I wish it were otherwise coz I’ve heard great things about it. I confess i have a love affair for the glenallachie distillery, which started after picking up a (very inexpensive) single cask 15 at Robert Graham in Glasgow about 8 years ago (on their recommendation). Whisky tastings coming up next week with my sons - looking fwd to opening up a number of bottles bought this year at auction and imported. Don’t diss Octomore!! - yes it’s overpriced but it’s so damned good, especially the .3s Cheers!

Maybe the name of that meikle toir it comes from the spanish language, at least here in Argentina the Peat is called Turba. Considering The Turbo is the most heavily peated from the MT expressions it makes some sense
@WhiskyInThe62 күн бұрын
That does makes sense

Lag 12 was way and above best with the Lion's Fire. Phoenix Fire a very large step down, even if not bad. But with the increasing price the Phoenix not worth it. Then the Inky Dinky Lagavulin and the even larger jump in price? OK whiskey, just more like the way it should be which means priced at like US$80. Really hard pass on those but it's based on the price, not the juice. Laddie 18 has had the price go crazy. But I can at least justify the price at that age. To me that by far is the better way to go.

$100 for a 5 year old seems a bit expensive but your endorsement against some other nice selections is compelling.
@Whiskyfan5193 сағат бұрын
That's the reality of the Canadian market, especially in Ontario. Not much to be had that's decent below 100.
