I was there to watch it come in yesterday. It was super cold but worth it to see a ship coming in with snow on the ground. I've been up there many times in the summer but that was the first time in the winter. Very cool sights to see. From the pier the tops of the cranes looked a lot closer to the bridge then they actually were.

I worked in Manitowoc about 12 years ago, and would take lunch just in time to go watch the Badger ferry dock. Sometimes I would see the coal ships come to feed the power plant as well. Awesome sight - especially the Badger using it's anchor to stop and pivot 90º! They called it "the maneuver". 😊

I noticed that too. Looks like she's made out of wood and she's missing a few planks. I thought maybe coming in for repair but it says to load grain.
@c5back92 жыл бұрын
@@sjackson99 I can’t understand why they’d let her go out if damaged. I looked several times and from that angle when she’s coming in and closing on the camera, those look like big holes - as you commented like planking that’s missing. Then after she passes by, it looks less like holes and somewhat like scrapes. She surely is a steel hull and definitely not wood so it must be an illusion. But she was up against something at some point, that much is certain. Take care!
