In around 1925 my maternal grand father moved from Yorkshire to the West Midlands. Looking at these excellent images I'll be eternally grateful that he did. Damn but it's cold up in't north! I was up there in York as a kid around 1964 for Christmas. We had 6" of snow overnight and it was so cold you couldn't make snowballs. In about 1977 I was again in't city overnight and the fog was like pea soup and freezing cold. In 1991 I was there in mid april at Halifax and it was lovely. Thanks for this wonderful video. Going to have to share it with friends....
