Thinking about getting one, have two finches. Huge cage for them but would get another for canary. My question is, do they take a break? Stop singing? My finches have different times through the day then they just peep

@@Star-h4e they sing most times but their singing is wholesome and not bothersome like cockatiel screaming, if you're getting one try to get a male because the male sings the females don't sing usually

Too many factors could be, usually they are not singing if change the location or temperature also they are molting once a year in the summer

Bro, my canary used to sing like crazy but now that i got him a female she's been hitting the male a lot and preventing the male from singing, today I'll go sell that female and get another male put him in another cage so they both can sing

Check if your bird is sick. After that make sure that it isn't overweight. If all is good, be consistent and don't give up. With my training songs you will make her happier and it will start singing. It is just a matter of time. Greetings and Good Luck !!!

Something which no-one else has said....If it's a female canary it won't sing very well....only the males are known for their singing abilities...to attract females and declare their territory....so..you,may have a female bird....Or, it may just be taking a long time to go through the annual molt when it renews it's feathers.
