White Clay Skills Park - White Clay Creek State Park, DE

September 23, 2020 - This is the most popular trail in WCCSP. It contains a rope-suspended ladder bridge, elevated bridges and log and ladder skinnies. Other features include rock garden. It's a short trail but well worth checking out if you are in the area.
I made a video of this trail 2.5 years ago and some of the features have changed so it was time for a new one.

Nice job. I only do 1/2 of what you did, though I did manage the teeter totter on a couple occasions in my ballsier days.

📛🤔 Wait, I used to ride mountain bikes through the entire length of the White Clay Creek Preserve trail, from 1991 through 1996, when it first opened as a preserve and park(when the Delaware side was called Walter S. Carpenter park). I'd sometimes start in Newark Delaware, head down Creek road, into Pa, and all the way to the parking lot on Broad Run road in Landenberg. But a couple times we ended up being chased by rangers, also on mountain bikes, on the Delaware side, but very close to the Pa line. They'd insist "you aren't allowed to ride bikes on the narrow trails in this park, except for on Creek road"! The only reason they caught us was because my younger brother was SO slow when riding on trails, that I'd always have to ride slowly. Even when being chased, I'd feel obligated to slow down and wait for him, even though it was obvious that it would result in being easily caught by the pursuing ranger! If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have slowed down(knowing what type of deceptive, manipulative, dark triad type person my brother became). 😣

Great story and history of the park. Sorry about your brother, but life is too short to keep people like that close to you even if they are family.

@@DKRK279 I'm not particularly religious, but AMEN to what you said! Anyway, how long is that trail you're riding on there in the White Clay Creek preserve? Also where do you park to access the beginning(or end) of that particular bike trail? Thanks. Btw, I just watched another video of a guy who video recorded a coyote in the park about 8 years ago. I didn't know coyotes lived there! I've seen a beaver that the state introduced there.

@@HighlanderNorth1 the skills trail is short, maybe 1/2 a mile. I usually park over in Middle Run County Park on the other side of 72, then ride trails over into White Clay. Trailforks is a great app for navigation.

@@mtbeast226 maybe not that trail specifically but White Clay and Middle Run are very popular local trails, especially on weekends.
