No that's about 8 years later. He gets grabbed by the CIA for a job and later learns of the Intersect Program. Chuck was who he latched onto at Stanford when Mozzie was still in New York running jobs.

This last bit of the finale absolutely destroyed the Neal Caffrey Character for me. It left me hugely disappointed and utterly annoyed to this day. There is a line from Season 6, from Keller to Neal, who told Neal that no matter where The Pink Panthers are, even in Prison, they will seek revenge on those who put them there, including their families. When Neal "died" and buggered off to France with the millions he had Mozzie steal for him, as far as the Pink Panthers were concerned only one person they had interacted with was alive, which would have been Peter Burke, and given Peter Burke had been central to the case he would have been the main prosecution's witness giving evidence, the Pink Panthers would have gone after Peter and his family - all the while Neal is swanning it up in France on stolen Money. This for me is a serious loose end that needs to be rectified. I'm hoping it will be done. I think what they could do is use this message from Neal as the beginning of The Panthers rampage on Neal & Peter and their first hit is Mozzie. This message signals to the Panthers that Neal Caffrey lives and that he is in France so they send out operatives there to find where he is. They find Mozzie and Neal together with their set-up. They kill Mozzie and Neal runs..... back to Peter and so the story begins....

Why do you think that any of the money went to Neal? Mozzie would have known Neal wasn't dead if that was the case.
