I'm pretty sure the thing that walks in the background is a Dreamon. It was something that's been mentioned in the early days of the dsmp but it's not really canon now. Edit: Actually now that I'm looking at it closer, u might be right that it's DreamXD. However, he looks rather monstrous

Adding another comment because I've now played through this mod and it DESERVES this second comment. It is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The visuals, the music, the vocal sampling, the extra songs outside dsmp, absolute perfection. I thought from the previews that Schlatt's song would be my favorite but i am HOOKED on Jack's song.
