White Forest Runick Updated Deck Profile & Tournament Report 🧙🏼‍♂️

TLDR:
•I keep getting cooked by tenpai
•Shifter is a card
•Droll & Lock Bird does a lot of damage
I played in an OTS Championship tourney today.
I did well against the majority of the decks, but I did see some improvement areas.
I made some changes to help going second and attempt to maintain some sort of card economy with the Runicks.

For tenpai I would recommend using the level 8 white forest to summon zapper shrimp to kill the field spell and then you should be able to do well with runicks. Try to save a runick just incase they have a dark hole or lightning storm so you can summon hugin

Testing online while I wait for my white forest stuff to arrive and I think the best strategy against tenpai is to summon chaos angel in defense position by using Geri and one of your level 6 light tuners as material so you can get the light and dark bonus. They need to specifically draw raigeki or imperm to deal with it. Lighting storm won’t work since he will be in defense position and nothing in their extra deck has piercing so he basically blocks all damage until they can find one of those two cards. You can even make a crazy synchro wall by summoning all your synchros in defense position along side him since his effect works on all synchros

Much better, I don't like the Astellar and the Mutamorphosis, but if it fits your play style it's fine. Love the imperm and Purulia, much better than skill drain, black goat in my opinion. In 42 cards I would definitely play two dispelling. Just cut the dark rulers, don't work with runick, either wait thrust reprint and buy a set or go with phantazmay or mix both. I don't know about the Silhouhatte, it is a great card, but you need to protect your fountain, still prefer letting the EMZ free and add either Emeral for recursion or Ty-Phon for cleaning up. @@vitorapollinario9335 thank you for the detailed input! Yeah, the rabbit was a test, not a big fan of it. Never really came up. I’m also not a fan of skill drain. Gonna be adding in a couple more runick spells and removing some non-engine. For my regional, I’ll be removing the Mutamorphasis but still play 1 astellar. I’m actually adding in a dweller instead of emeral bc my area has a lot of branded. I still have 2 weeks until the regional, so I’m sure with the help of the community, I can have a tight list going into the event

Best way to address Tenpai is siding Ash Blossom and using Slumber to negate attacks and the trap card to handle their synchro summon the BP-assuming they don’t chain a second summon.

side mulcharmy unless you are blind second, its completely dead going first and as you said you need every card with evenly as least you can discard it with white forest effects if you've nothing else. im on 11 white forest (0 astellar) cards, 20 runicks and 9 none engine. skill drain x3, triple tactics x1, called by the grave x1 evenly matched x3, skill drain is auto win vs tenpai

@@jamesjones353 definitely, I’m still testing it. I honestly just have bad luck and barely win die rolls lol. I tried skill drain, but I always found it in my hand going second and wished it were something else. I may try it in the side deck. How have you like the TTT in the main?

@@pandanpapi i love TTT, i like lulling people into a false sense of security and discarding it, adding back with diabel and using it. skill drain is one of them cards, we can play under it so easy as we send stuff for cost, and it can buy you so much time if you need it, even going second you can set it and buy time with runic engine

You could try "Zoroa, the Magistus conflagrant Calamity + Vahram Magistus Dragon. Its cheap and skill drains opponent tenpais Synchro monster + It cant be outed by trap and spell destruction + The smaller tenpai synchro dragon cant out it. But it Needs two extra decks slots. ! IT DOESNT WORK AGAINST IF YOUR BACKROW GETS VIPED, SO DUSTER AND LIGHTNING STORM WORKS AGAINST IT

@kironova3124 how does it not get dealt with by spell trap destruction? Vahram only says the equipped monster cant be destroyed. you can hugin protect but you can do that for skill drain too.

@@chitahitsu4743 Im sorry, i dont quite get the question. I meant that Zoroa gets destruction spell trap protection from VAhram, as long as its equipped. So lightning storm and raigeki doesnt work for tenpai against it

@@kironova3124Zoroa is protected by Vahram, yes , but Vahram isnt protected by anything- Zoroa only locks your opponent aslong as Vahram is there. so if they LS or duster the vahram they are not locked anymore.

Not trying to be an asshole but hugin protects from destruction and you inherently have ways to deal eith the field spell too so you should not have issues with dealing with yhe monsters afterwards

In my opinion you either play 15 hand traps or none in this format, the ftk are a problem but I think it’s not that impactful

Honestly, you might be better off w/o legatia… to be real, you can run ghoti of the deep beyond rather than a silouhatte rabbit. Other options are ghoti of the deep beyond because of zapper shrimp plus diabell, Horus engine to provide access to hope harbinger. You can also abuse the fuck out of a Diabellestarr engine to be paired with a single effect veiler and an Iris Swordsoul.
