@@erinrimmer9878 it does, as an Aussie you learn about the dangers of UV light (UV radiation) at primary school and have it drilled into you because the UV here is extremely high. Like 70% of Australians or something ridiculous will have a skin cancer in their lifetime, if not multiple. People here almost exclusively use fake tan, because you are seen as an idiot if you don't. As a side note, nearly everyone from a different country that has moved to Australia I've spoken to is astounded by how harsh the UV is here. I know someone from Ghana originally that got burnt here, and considering she's African and black it was a shock. Only exception is New Zealanders because the UV is also very harsh there. As someone of mostly Scandinavian/Scottish/English/Im pale af heritage, the UV is a genuine issue and I have to avoid it like the plague. I could stand outside in winter for half an hour and get burnt. I'm genuinely worried for her because as someone who is also pale, go for the fake tan over the real tan anytime, or learn to love your skin. Because the tan is literally your skin being damaged, it's nothing like having naturally darker skin.
