Neither am I suggesting that they are the most to blame for the black man’s plight. Yep. So true. Me, a Mexican, I had once a conversation with a white lady from the US, trying to "correct" me about facts of my ethnicity and nationality. Because I straight up told her, that we Latinos, Latinos that actually live in Latin America, don't like the word "Latinx" because that's an American word that disregards our culture and language. That if she was going to use inclusive language, she should use the one created in Latin America, the one that follows and respects our language and culture. Then, she proceeded to never admit she was wrong and try to educate me about my experience as a Mexican living in Mexico his whole life, and about my culture and language. In the end she just made herself the victim and erased my comments so she could keep being seeing as the good one, the progressive, etc. And this kind of stuff has happened to me online, many times, all from white Americans. But yeah. This should be totally addressed and exposed.

hmmm well... I can't say I agree 100% with that because people have to earn money and 99.9999% people will make money by doing inconsequential things or by doing things very in line with all the shit that happens in this world... for example... most jobs are involved in slavery, pollution that kills people and redistribution of wealth from the poor to the rich... you sell cellphones... well guess how those cellphones are made, how the products that those cellphones are made of are acquired by cellphone companies... the same shit with all products that have batteries... the mining process of getting lithium is highly poisonous... all the people that live nearby a mine get sick because the water has poison so everybody who's job is involved in the production and retail of cellphones are involved in a slaughter... customers too. So describing somebody's job as hypocritical just because he's against the system... doesn't make much sense... most jobs are hypocritical because I'm sure most people aren't in favor of killing. but without all the death produced by the products they sell, manufacture or use... they wouldn't have any job. The problem with people like Hasan is that they sell you the image of a savior or an integral man and that you should give them money because they are changing the world and so on... when in fact it's just a job. I think a dude who talks about these issue is better than a dude talking about how cool drugs are or how sex is great, especially in songs.

Now again, not saying he is correct, but it does seem pretty clear that he doesn't think these different people are all the same.
@TheCalmPsycho2 жыл бұрын
@@kiraPh1234k I think the distinction to make is that he has created a box in his mind that he shoves all people of 'x' group into, and then when someone dissents from that box in his mind, they are traitors to that identity. I think that is what Luke was trying to get at. Same as when black people didn't agree with blm, they were called racist names like Uncle Tom, or porch monkeys or whatever, people like Hasan perceive and treat all black people like black people because black, and anyone who doesn't get back in line isn't a real black person. So even though you are right that he doesn't think different people are the same, he does think they are the same, or, should be the same, because trans, because black, because woman. He utterly denies the individuality, capability, complexity, and basic human functions, while devaluing and dehumanizing human beings into nothing more than a label. He dehumanizes the very people he pretends to care about, using them as tokens to be cashed in for his own benefit and self aggrandizement, while also using them as meat shields to deflect criticism of his thoughts so he never actually has to think about his hypocritical ideology.

True, other than politically. Politically, both demographics by survey and demographic studies in the USA, vote 90% or more Democrat. So while I get what you are saying and agree with it in general, in politics, no, I don't agree -- they are monolithic and lock-step for the vast majority. What I'm hearing is we might find out that has changed slightly among black voters, but the expectancy from what I'm hearing from my contacts (political campaign management, analysts) is it's not changing much. But it's expected to have changed for the first time in nearly half a century, to something like 80-85% voting Democrat instead of averaging around 92% over the last few decades. The bigger shift has been among Latinos. A slight shift not so much to Rep but simply away from supporting Democrats, has been detected lately among gay and bisexuals, but not among Trans.

It's really weird being a white person from a right leaning family and having left leaning friends and they both have undertones of racism to what they say. It's almost like it permeates deeper than what side of the political spectrum you're on. Not to mention the fact that so many left people dislike puritans but then the way they try and enforce their views is very puritanical. Just to be transparent I'm more left leaning lol
@llRespectThis Жыл бұрын
I feel like a lot of right leaning racism is based on ingorance and hate, whereas a lot of left leaning racism is well intended but racist none-the-less. My mom is a liberal white Christian and she says crap like "black people respect their elders" and basically says stuff that's positive but still racist. My dad is a Trump loving racist and just hates brown people. A lot of his views are double standards and he doesn't see the fault in them. Blacks are a cancer on America - this is common amongst the right. Jidions video isn't reality though, anymore than anyone coming in declaring they're here to document "the truth". These people aren't stupid, they aren't going to enforce the stereotype that they're racist. Racists don't like being called racist.

Unlearning your internal biases doesn't come from them going unchallenged - it's the opposite. I realized this when I went to university. Primarily white with some ethnic groups here and there, but most of my problems came from liberal white students and teachers that reject the fact that I’m Latino because my skin was lighter. I’ve been told how to feel about “issues” that we Latinos must worry. When I tell them that I’m not offended or that most Latinos won’t be offended they get mad at me and tell me I don’t know better. They ignore when I tell them I hate being called Latinx so on so on. White liberals will say the most racist shit to you without understanding our feelings on things. White individuals that haven’t been racist towards me are those that don’t go to college/ university or country folks. I don’t like to generalize people but I’m more cautious because of my experiences, I hope that they learn and understand that how they think and act towards other races and ethnicities is problematic.

University tends to have this problem because a lot of these ideas plaguing us now have been there for a while and only recently gained prominence. Because of these experiences, I am very cautious around 'white' and other ethnic groups who are openly progressive (especially women ugh). It's not that they are 'problematic' ugh hate that they've made that word cringey, but it's that they don't realize that they are ignorant as well (they've never traveled to most of the places in their country or the rest of the world to actually KNOW how people and places are like). They take their academic knowledge as completely true as it allows them to hold sweeping generalizations over others (and think this is completely different from prejudiced people holding on to old beliefs and stereotypes). Being in Academia definitely does not help in taming elitist attitudes, in fact, a lot of the time, it encourages it. They had a tense conversation where they both spoke about their views. They actually became good friends with Daryl being named the godfather of the klan dudes daughter. When Klan dude left the Klan he gifted Daryl his robe to show that he was done with it and that it was thanks to Daryl. Sometimes just talking works. Ignorance is the root of a lot of hate. If you can sit down with someone and just have a conversation with them, share your views listen the theirs, you can cut through a lot of that ignorance and maybe (emphasis on maybe) you can change their views or at least make them actually think about what they believe. Most racism is stemmed from a misunderstanding, having these sort of conversations often kills the tensions and broadens the mind, fair play to him aswell as the white folks who talked to him

The guy in the camo is able to stay indoctrinated because he likely has zero contact with anyone from other cultures/areas. So he hasn’t had his way of thinking challenged. Sociologists have known for decades that racism much less in areas that are truly diverse. So this interactions may be one of very few instances this guy has interacted with a black person. It could truly teach camo guy that his stereotypes aren’t reality.

I had this girl say to me out the blue that it must be so bad being black and another one, her friend who I originally met her through, cancel me because I was going through a mental health crisis. Both listened to hip hop and reggae (I'm more of a metal fan but whatever) and completely disregarded my experience when it didn't suit them. Used all the right hashtags on Instagram though.

The key is realizing that they want to make it so that the black identity is inseparable from a communist one. It's that simple. It's where thee whole "skin folk not kin folk" slogan that is slung at black conservatives comes from. Any deviation from Marxist/communist hive mind collectivism gets you labelled a heretic by these people.

Where was the lie 💯 I feel that to be more insulting and racist than someone who straight up dislikes me for my skin color. If you’re trying to tell me my feelings and experiences are invalid and I should be outraged and use woke terms a bunch of white peoples made up, you’re dead to me. To me, that means you think you’re superior. You, as a white liberal, still think you’re smarter and superior over black people (or any other race). Otherwise, you’d actually give a damn about what I’m telling you and how I feel It’s like those political cartoons of white people trying to civilize the countries they colonized. People like Hasan are the modern version of that

"Ron ?Stallworth?" the only black man to be a member of the KKK, even attended some rally's. Amazing story about a detective who became not only a member of the KKK, but was a close personal friend of the highest member of congregation (the grand Poobah so to speak). Absolutely incredible story on how they first met right up to the retirement days. Both their families would go to each other's houses for meals and everything. The grand Poobah admitted that he had been brainwashed as a child and had no real idea as to why he hated black people. All he knew was that he was told that they were to be hated.

My experiences with racism back in elementary and middle school were very bizarre, and some of the people I have opened up to about what used to happen to me, have discredited, patronized and made fun of me. All because they thought they knew better, and there's no way that would happen to someone who passed for white

I feel so sorry for all the people who have been so horribly brainwashed to think that Hasan is some sort of authority on anything. He's so obviously entitled and hollow, he has to be the most condescending asshole I've ever had the displeasure of having to know exists. If I I had to choose between knowing Hasan is a person who exists vs never knowing of him but having to have a conversation with an openly racist person everyday for the rest of my life, I wouldn't hesitate to choose talking to openly racist people.
