This one is GREAT. Very usable. Too many colors seems to limit the locations you can use it in. I've done a number of sample boards and a few counters, but I find (with rentals) simple is better. This recipe is perfect for my next countertop. It'll go perfect with the flooring that is already there.

Beautiful creation!! I love the teasing!! Too cute! Do you get different reactions by using different types of white additives together? I have the squirrel queen in my family! She honestly is in mid serious conversation and suddenly says, "SQUIRREL!" Makes me laugh so much! She does squirrel counts while driving about town!

LOL That's funny!! Yes, adding different types of white will cause different reactions and looks. I love using all different types of additives.

Ok, so I just ordered Totalboat table top epoxy and now after watching this I'm feeling doubtful. This is waaay more informative and nearly 5x's the working time. TB has a 30 min gel time what does that mean? Is it possible if I heat up my working environment it can help. Ugh I wish I saw this sooner🥺😭. Love how you to work together and respect each other's skill and craft. Love this design. It's completely beautiful

Stonecoat epoxy IMO is a far superior product. The UVA, heat and scratch resistance is incredible. Paired with our Ultimate Top Coat, your countertops will be very very durable.
@shamaraboonemua1213 жыл бұрын
@@RK3Designs if I sand down my epoxy can I put the stone epoxy over it or would I need to strip it completely?
@RK3Designs3 жыл бұрын
@@shamaraboonemua121 if you have good adhesion with what is currently on the surface, all you need to do is sand thoroughly, paint 2 coats of your base color and then pour. The issue is if the current product that’s on the surface doesn’t have good adhesion. No matter what you put on top, it’s only going to be as strong as the bottoms layer. If that bond fails, the whole surface will fail.

I have used both TotalBoat tabletop epoxy and SuperClear. They run about $110 for two gallons on Amazon, roughly half the price of Stonecoat! Both TotalBoat and SuperClear have great scratch resistance and heat resistance. I tried putting hot pans on them and using them as cutting boards, things I would NEVER do to my kitchen countertop no matter what it was made out of anyway. Longer working time also means longer time for dust, bugs, and dog hairs to get stuck in the work or for someone to accidentally set something down on your newly poured countertop! No product has perfect UV resistance, but unless you are making something for outdoors that will set in the sun, you probably will never notice.

Thanks for the great video! What would be the impact of doing exotic pours but with only ~4.6 oz per sq ft? My countertop is ~55 sq ft, so hoping to get away with 2 gallons = 256 ozs.

Why are you using Art Coat instead of Stone Coat Epoxy? Do you recommend applying Stone Coat Epoxy after it dries?

I for got to order top coat after we finish would it be the same amount how much could I do this between 24 and 36 hrs later?
@RK3Designs2 жыл бұрын
The top coat is a roll on product. You can apply it anytime after the epoxy has cured. For specific instructions I’ve come up with a instructional PDF with mixing ratios. rk3designs.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/UTC-Mixing-Instructions.pdf
