We just had a person check my mom's crawlspace, they identified it as white mold and were going to charge 12-15,000 dollars to fix it... WOW! they didn't even go into the crawlspace, the person only stuck their head in for maybe 2 minutes, then stood up and said, "white mold." The crawlspace entrance is small and they were a "bigger" person, so I had my doubts about the accuracy of their "inspection." Thanks for the video. I'm about to crawl under and have a look for myself.

Can you apply a special paint on the outside of the crawlspace? The reason I ask is that we had to repair cracks and want to cover up the difference in color.

Hey there, I have a small inspection company here in Atlanta and I'm really enjoying your content. Being that we're here in GA, it makes it challenging to tell a prospective buyer that a crawl space is excessively humid when humidity fluctuations are the norm in the SE, and especially in a ventilated crawl space. On any given day, humid or dry weather aside, is there a way to say definitively that the moisture level in a crawl space is or has been excessive. I spose the presence of live or dead mold is a good indicator.. just trying to decide whether or not outfitting inspectors with humidity meters is merited given the fluctuations in outside humidity. Moisture meters for sufaces, absolutely.. Humidity meters is my question, or at least your opinion. Thanks again for the great content.

I'm having an efflorescence problem in both my bathroom and my bedroom. Both are close to each other and look onto the outside. The place was renewed less than 3 years ago but I live in Shanghai, where humidity is HIGH- around 80% all year round with many heavy rains. Does the problem come from the outside or the inside? Also, the wall paint has started to crack and peel in the bedroom. What should I do before repainting the wall?

had a guy come out for my crawl space, 16,000 dollars to install sump pump, french drain, dehumidifer, encapsulation with some very thick plastic,, omg, please tell me i can fix this without getting a new home loan.
