Regarding our dinner service times, yes we did bring it up to guest services that night but did not talk to the head server of the restaurant until the following night. We made a post in the cruise Facebook group and asked if anyone else had the same experience and A LOT of other families had similar issues with dinner taking a long time. It wasn’t just us. After we brought the issue to the head server our night 6 dinner was MUCH faster!
@Doronin2 жыл бұрын
I had asked if you addressed the issue with the staff, and just got off the final Alaska sailing of the year myself. We had the exact same experience with super long dining times with no solution. I literally came back to this video almost 2 months later just to say, you described that accurately. I also refused to go to sit-down breakfast because it was taking an hour or more just to get some basic stuff you could get at Cabanas in no time. Speaking of which, Cabanas has improved dramatically since we sailed the Wonder in October 2021. Wow.

We did quite a few hikes because we first week land tour then one week cruise. Great but tiring. When we were there they brought the puppies on board and we got to see them on the tour and when we got back. So cute to play with. I can see where your wonderful personality comes from. Your mom is a woman after my heart. A little bump in the road is just that and nothing to detract from all that is wonderful. Great video!!!!

Thank you for this Vlog. My wife and I did an Alaska Cruise with another cruise line in 2018 and stopped in Skagway. We took a tour bus instead of the train as the price was significantly lower and the views were just as spectacular plus we got to go a little farther than the train. In part of your video you could see the road we took. I suggest on your next trip that you look into a tour bus trip instead of or in addition to the train. We agree whole heartedly that Alaska is beautiful. If Disney has a land and sea package where you can go to Denali National Park, I highly recommend that. It is a great experience.

Skagway is my favorite port so far. I haven’t cruised a lot (3 DCL) but I loved that day. We did the bus and rail tour. The bus took us up and allowed several stops at scenic places for pics. Took the train back down. Beautiful. I wanted to chime in on your comment about dining service. We just got off the Dream July 9 and had the worst dining service. Our team was nice but seemed disjointed and we spent waaaay too much time in the dining room each night. We skipped the last night because we just didn’t want to go and spend 2 hours in there. I have to wonder if they pulled a lot of their seasoned crew members and moved them to the Wish….

Oh and for the train, I noticed you guys had tables and cushioned seats. Someone else who did it said they didn't have pads on their seats and it was uncomfortable. Was yours the only car or were there a bunch more? (Trying to strategically figure so we get comfy seats lol!)

I’m curious if you think you would have preferred the White Pass Rail and Skagway Street Car City Highlights (SW50)? You would have had a bus tour up (stopping along the way to see highlights) and just taken the train back down the mountain.

On our cruise we had an option for a luxury train car and if you can do it! Comfortable lounge chairs, food, drinks, personal narration, large observation section and only 14 people! We were on a Holland American cruise that goes to glacier bay which was amazing and we got to see calving glaciers. ❤️ Alaskan cruise.

I just off the Dream yesterday and I had the same issue with my first night at Animator's. The rest of the nights, the food came out quickly. One thing to note, our Server told us this was his first time being a Server (he was previously an Assistant Server) and he was just thrown into this because they are short staffed. I could tell he was nervous but he got it together and the rest of the trip was flawless. Also noting that in this cruise's FB group, people said their servers were catching covid so that definitely does not help the staffing issues.

When the Dream launched they brought on mostly new crew causing horrible experiences. We were on the 11th sailing and it was not great. With Fantasy they opted to re-deploy experienced crew to the Fantasy. Most likely, you are working with newer crew that hasn’t found their footing while seasoned crew were training for the Wish. And thanks for helping me on Twitter to get details of the hike for my cruise next month.

We were on the 6/27 cruise and both my nieces took turns taking naps on the morning train ride. We were able to make it back for lunch at the Tritons with just a minute to spare. For me, the beef satay served during lunch was the best food on the entire cruise. After lunch, we were supposed to go back out to explore Skagway but didn’t. I’m bummed that we missed the hike you did in Skagway.

We had awful service on our cruise years ago. Those were the longest meals we ever had. Ever since the Alaska cruise we now book the first seating. For the train ride we only went one way on the train. The bus driver was amazing and we kept getting off the bus to take photos of waterfalls. We also were able to take a photo with the Alaska sign.

We had the same dining experience with our 2019 Disney Alaskan cruise. We had a very polite and cordial waiter. But other waiters actually came to us and asked where is your waiter? Have you not had dessert yet? One actually went to get desserts for us. It made us late for the evening plays. Which made it so I could not sit with my grand children. All three of us had to separate for the program. Same with our cruise, other families sat down after us and left a long time before us and we were sitting and just waiting. It was frustrating. I will tell you that the food was a much higher quality on the Alaskan cruise than our April 2022 Caribbean cruise.

Love the vlogs! This is really helping us prepare for this same cruise in September. But on the dinner service, did you say something to your head waiter about the pace of service? Please talk to the Guest Services about your concerns with your dining experience especially if it has happened consistently for 4 nights. They can't address it unless you tell them. From my experiences in the past, they will listen and work on whatever the issue is at hand. Other than that, enjoy the rest of your cruise and keep sharing!

Love you and your channel. PleAse in future let the maitre de know any concerns about your meal, timing or service concerns. They want you to be happy. Let’s face it they want good tips. Also they don’t know unless you tell them and should probably bring that concern before saying about it on KZbin. They will fix the problem. At least on your second night let them know. I’ve had this type of issue many times and it’s always been fixed when I bring it to the Marie de, that’s what he’s there for.

As a vlogger who is always filming everything Disney. It’s your duty to find out why the service took so long. Especially when you said it was all four nights. No reason why you couldn’t ask the waiters why. But I can see you have a big party with you. And we all know that you’re not just having one entree and one app and one dessert. You are having a couple of them. I imagine a lot of your family are too. So it could be just the vast amount of food they have to serve your party. But regardless, you should be asking why. This way the problem can be addressed. You have no problem complimenting things no reason you can’t complain about something
