Wow, great video! Very well explained as usual. Thank you for doing this on request video. I did not expect to have the paper options evaluated also, that is very interesting. I use Gina K paper (I love her paper) and thatmay be why I am not getting good results so that was very interesting for me. Let’s see if I can remember everything you talked about. First of all, your selection of ink pads is great. I think these are available more readily than a few that I had requested. So probably more applicable to most people.And I think the winners and losers were shown very well and easy to pick out. I totally agree with all of your conclusions. Very sorry to hear about your dog. It always takes a lot out of you to lose them. But she had a great life, a really long life for a retriever. I loved the card your friend sent. Is there any chance you could find out where she got the rainbow bridge stamp? I would love to have something like that. As for the cardstock collector name, it really fits. You could not believe how much card stock I have. And there is card stock that I love so much that I just cannot bring myself to use, graphic 45 for one. I just love to smell,that one. I wonder what kind of ink they use. I have started destashing a lot of stuff because I am so overflowing with craft supplies. I have given away an awful lot but when I look around there still an awful lot left. The people I have given the supplies to have been so happy to get them that it makes me feel really good. I don’t know if you saw my other comment to you but I wondered if you have a PayPal account so that I could donate to you. I realize you have to go out and buy all the stuff in order to do the comparisons so I’m willing to help out. Let me know.

I wish I knew your first name, as I felt bad calling you cardstockcollector on the video....I'm glad to know that you love Graphic 45 as I do too, and have a really hard time making myself use it. I'm not fond of their lines of papers that are in the pastels, as I prefer the more vibrant colors and just bought some 8 x 8 Christmas papers for an album next year. I've never smelled it though, and am going to do so, now that you mentioned it. I love that you give your extra items away, as I like to do that too. I made eleven boxes for the ladies of Puerto Rico that we adopted and eleven boxes didn't make a dent in anything in my craft room (that's why I'm simply a crafty hoarder, since I have a lot of everything.) It's so sweet of you to offer to help with the costs of materials, but I went into this KZbin experience to make these kinds of videos specifically, and wouldn't feel right accepting any donations. I'd much prefer you pass more of your supplies along to people who will benefit from having them. I'm so glad that the video answered your questions and helped with the card stock question that I had....So we both learned something from the video...Let me know if you have any other ideas of videos you'd like me to make for you. Sandy

Aidan, I think that's so kind of you and cardstockcollector, but as I explained to her, I went into KZbin to specifically make these kinds of videos, and wouldn't feel comfortable taking any monies for my videos. I'd love it if instead, you'd find someone who wants to make cards, but can't afford some supplies, and you shared yours with them. It was so thoughtful of you. Sandy

Great job, Sandy. Once again you have given us valuable information and saved us money. I had a really cheap white ink from Michaels bargain bins that didn’t do very well. Fortunately, I bought a Hero Arts card kit a few months ago that had a Unicorn ink cube in it. It does work very well. I’m hearing good things about the Color Box brand of inks. Have you had much experience with them? Loved your new sign! Your friend is very thoughtful in her gift giving. Thank you for sharing the picture of Aggie. I know you, Rich and the other fur babies are missing her. The tightly-whitey card was a hoot 😉. Catch you next time.

I do have eight or nine Color Box inks and really like them. I'm also really enjoying the Hero Arts Shadow inks, and used a lot of them on the monochromatic cards I just made. I posted photos of the ones (excluding the green card), on my blog and facebook, so people could see how the other colors turned out. I'm crazy about my sign...she's so thoughtful and I am blessed to have a friend who knows me so well.. Missing Aggie, but she's better off now...Thanks so much for your kind words, as always! Sandy

I often wonder when other crafters use very expensive card stock, if card stock cost really does make a huge difference in the way a product performs...and that's the reason I make these videos that compare not only the inks, but the papers. I'm glad it helped you see which you prefer...Sandy

You definitely need to buy one of the three inks that worked best. I think you'll really like playing with them. They are so much fun when used for a monochromatic look. Thanks for your kind words. She was a beauty and I miss her, but she'll always be with us. So glad you enjoyed the video and the music...Sandy

Just an odd idea. Since Darice is the cheapest paper, could it be that there is less paper fiber in a cheaper paper and therefore there is more room for ink to settle in before it dries? It would't have to penetrate a larger percentage of paper before it dries. I love these comparisons. You are bold and fearless in your research videos. I have bought paper by the package and have so much from that type of purchase that I don't feel I should buy more cardstock when I have a lot of one color on hand. Learning that the stock makes a difference heightens my interest in buying smaller lots of paper and choosing a wider variety of brands. Once again you have broadened my knowledge and encouraged more acute perception. Your videos are so valuable to all of us stampers. Thank you.
@craftingforalmosteveryone6 жыл бұрын
Jane You might be right about the reason it adheres to the cheaper paper. So glad you like my comparisons,,I want to make sure that we find out what inks work best on what paper, because I've always heard the big KZbinrs primarily talk about Neenah paper, but it doesn't always work best..If they had Neenah in black, I'd have bought some for this comparison, so we would know if it was worth the money to buy. So far, I haven't found Neenah to be worth it. I did just buy Hobby Lobby's brand in heavyweight and will let you know how it works for me. I love finding inexpensive products that work better than the expensive ones because price doesn't necessarily mean quality when it comes to paper crafting supplies (in my opinion.) I can't tell you how much your kind words mean to me.....

Very nice and interesting review! I did like the Darice paper best as well! This just shows that good testing is always valuable, because there might be results that amaze you, like this one concerning the paper issue. I liked the Color Box, Hero Hues and the Stamping up best, too. On the Darice paper, I have to admit that the Stamping and the Color Box up performed best, because the color is very homogenous, whereas the Hero Hues looks a bit splotchy to me. But that could be a result of the way you were stamping (no judgement on your stamping meant). And I love the board with your channel name - such a wonderful gift! Thanks, Sandy! You really did it again, you made a brilliant review!
@craftingforalmosteveryone6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Elin. I didn't want to say anything really negative about the Hero Hues, as a lot of KZbinrs swear by it. It was a little splotchy, and it could have been from my stamping....Always great hearing from you!

@craftingforalmosteveryone6 жыл бұрын
You are in the majority of comments I've gotten on this video. I've heard a lot from people about Color Box white and Stampin' Up, and I always thought the Unicorn White was only one recommended on YT.....Lucky for me that cardstockcollector wanted this video, so I was able to compare all of mine and more. My SU pad was old (at least 5 years) and I just reinked it before the video and you saw the results. I love any ink pad that lasts a long time. I wish I had a Neenah black paper, as I've never had any fantastic results from Neenah and wondered if that would be the case with white inks as well. Sometimes price doesn't make a difference, and I like showing that on videos, so people know they don't have to spend a lot to be able to make great cards. Recollections 65 lb would have been the same price as the Darice that I bought. Great thrifty crafting....I'm your biggest fan!

I bought stazon but didn't want to try It for the same reasons you don't like it. I googled "best white ink pad" and color box was a resounding favorite but I wasn't that impressed...but then...one day...in goodwill...I found one stampin up white craft still in the wrapper. That was it...love at first stamp! So I bought a reinker...
@craftingforalmosteveryone6 жыл бұрын
Such a lucky find at the thrift store! I liked the Stampin' Up brand really well and for $8.50 with a re-inker, it's a good value too. Mine wasn't very new, but hadn't dried out. I had reinked it before this video, and it did really well (considering it wasn't anywhere near being new)...was at least several years old.

Are the nicer papers, like the Gina K, smoother? I'm wondering if that pigment ink really needs some "tooth" to the paper so it has something to grab onto.

Thank you! Just wondering if any of the inks bled through the papers used in this video?
@craftingforalmosteveryone6 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I should have mentioned it in the video. No, none of the inks bled through the papers. Pigment inks (the white inks) sit on top of the surface of the paper, unlike dye inks that will sink into it. So if you use a pigment ink (like any of the white ones) they shouldn't ever show through the back. I've never had a dye ink bleed through either, because card stock is so thick. Really the only thing I've ever had bleed through are alcohol markers. Hope that helps.

Which one is best for plastic? I have cookies I want to sell but I want to stamp them without smudge
@craftingforalmosteveryone3 жыл бұрын
I've never tried to stamp on plastic, but researched it once I read your question. I think the only ink that will definitely stick to plastic is Staz On white ink. It's a little bit fiddly, as you have to re ink it every time you use it, but they provide the reinker, so it's just annoying not more expensive. Here's a video where they show you how to do it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIeUnqyKhrxrerc Good luck, and i hope your project turns out great... If you have a laminator, you can stamp white pigment ink in the inside of the laminating pouch, let it dry a little so the image doesn't blur when inside the laminator, and then laminate it. You can stamp several images inside one laminating pouch, and then use a punch or die to cut whatever shape you'd like... I hope I helped...Love to help whenever I can...let me know if you need more information. saundralparker@yahoo.com Sandy
