White-Rodgers Emerson IntelliTEMP 900 (EnergyRewards, Pepco, Atlantic City Electric, etc.) Reprogram

How to reprogram the Rodgers-White Emerson IntelliTEMP-900 (TF98-0600) wireless thermostat (typically installed by your utility as part of EnergyRewards, Pepco Holdings, Atlantic City Electric, Exelon Energy, etc.)
Many electric utility companies offered an energy savings program, where consumers would agree to allow the utility to cycle their air conditioning during extreme heat events in order to protect their infrastructure from high usage. In exchange, the homeowner would receive a small discount on their electric bill.
When you signed up, you could opt for a free programmable thermostat, or a shutoff installed on your outdoor unit.
If you received the Thermostat, it would have been installed by the utility company, and they would provide a "Homeowner's Manual". Unfortunately, this manual does not have instructions to reprogram the unit, beyond setting the heating/cooling schedule.
In March of 2020, these programs were closed due to changes in Federal law. You can no longer access the thermostat via the utility's web portal to program it. At some point in April 2020, the thermostat was accessed the last time by the utility, and appears to have reset the HVAC equipment settings to factory default.
Since "Cool" is the only option enabled by default, when you attempt to turn on the heat as the Fall approaches, you will find the "Heat" option is missing.
This video walks you through resetting the thermostat's HVAC equipment settings, and enabling your furnace. Optionally, you can also dissable the RF function, to prevent the utility from remote access to apply updates to the thermostat (it will work as a normal programmable thermostat).

depending on ur apartment building, the heat may come from different places. what worked for me was setting it to indoor- elec heat.

Okay and what does it mean when the middle button light is blinking. And it has a white noise that is extremely irritating. How do I get rid of it?

Brian you are an Einstein. Quick fix was able to save hours on the phone with PEPCO. I managed to download the Thermostat Manual... Nothing in it on how to accomplish this much need correction to heat.

How do you fix the time on this? Our power went out for a few minutes and the time got messed up. Usually it would automatically adjust but not this time.

My thermostat will not allow me to adjust or set the clock. Message comes up with "The clock is automatically set by your electric utility"? I have 8 at our church that I can reset the clock but 3 will not allow me to do it and gives me the message as stated.

Where are the batteries on this model? Mine looks exactly like yours but when I pull the cover off there are no batteries on either the cover or the part that remains on the wall.

Mine has no batteries, since it is powered by the furnace. One of the wires is power. I don't know if this model supports being battery operated?

Just grab and pull it straight off the wall. You will see battery under the unit you pull off.
