I love that you are putting a little money and some time into the redwings to give them more life. My parents grew up in the depression and so they didn’t throw away or waste things that had more life. I am like them, I get rid of things after I’ve used up a lot of the wear of something. So saving those uppers, which clearly have a lot of wear left, and putting some new soles on them is something I appreciate. Your video gets a thumbs up just for that! And the Whites are beautiful. If your feet don’t grow, those will last you 50 years.

Absolutely! So much life left, my kids will inherit my boots one day. Sorry kids, no money but you’ll have footwear for a lifetime -love dad.

Looks great! I would have asked for a double leather midsole --that would have been fantastic! I'm looking for the finishedRed Wing video.

Good call! I was going for sleek though, more of a dress boot so double mid would have been too much for my purposes

Thanks for sharing, the Stevens looks great. The Vibram 700 seems like a good choice, would like to try that myself

I became obsessed with Nicks' boots after I saw Weston cut them in half. I ordered a pair and months later I ended up taking a trip to Spokane (from TX) just to get my feet measured properly because I had screwed up. Nicks' took great care of me and since I was up there I drove down the road to Whites and discovered the Stevens dress cap, they had just released them. I ordered them as soon as I got home and I love how they offer the same support but don't look as chunky. I work in an office environment and it's a lot easier to match my clothes to these boots. The outsole/welt on yours looks quite a bit wider than mine, I wonder if the sole choice had something to do with it.
@trinityhandmade38643 жыл бұрын
Possibly! That’s interested, I would be interested to see a photo of yours with the skinnier welt. I agree too that these are a great alternative that can be used in an office setting but also offer a ton of support. Thanks for sharing that story about traveling to Nicks/White’s.

Thanks for the review on the White's! I always enjoy your videos, man. And also kudos to you on the Red Wings -- I bet those'll look great on the half soles.

Great review man. I just bought some plain toe ones in British Tan. Can't wait for them to get here.

How much do they weigh? I wouldn't worry about CXL. I have a pair of bounty hunters in british tan cxl. Almost eight months old and they have aged beautifully

Thanks for your videos!! For the arch support, I normally wear sneakers, will the arch support be hard to get used to?
@trinityhandmade3864 Жыл бұрын
I would start with the MP last. 55 or 50/50 might be too much!

Hey man, as always, I love your reviews. I have mp Shermans in olive wf and now the Stevens in black CXL. Do you feel like the toe is sharper or more sharp regardless of what White's says? Do you get a lot of wear out of it? I'm not sure how well it goes with denim...I love them but it's hard to style for a guy who loves flannel in the cooler months
@trinityhandmade38642 жыл бұрын
Hey Jim I would say yes they are 100% more of a sharp toe than the MP is despite what white’s says haha. I don’t wear them a ton as for me they are a “dress boot” or a “Sunday best” only type of boot. I agree they are a little elevated style wise to wear super casually if you are just a normal guy. However I knew this when I bought them and I bought them with the intention to only wear them when I want to look a little extra nice. MPs are rugged enough for me for daily wear. Here’s a picture comparing the two and it’s plain to see that they are different. imgur.com/a/S34MiMn

Right now I'm thinking about buying the Stevens or MPs so I have a question . If you had to stand on your feel all day and walk around witch boot do you prefer ?

Walking miles, MP. Standing static Stevens.

Do you find this more comfortable than the c350 cutters?
@trinityhandmade3864 Жыл бұрын
They feel honestly the same! The last is nearly identical except in the shape of the toe box, if you size correctly you shouldn’t feel the toe box so therefore they feel the same

I hate creasing inside the cap area, but unfortunately its happens sometimes....and its worse when it only happen to one foot and not the other....

I have one foot that’s longer so that often only happens to the longer foot since the crease point is further down
