Those leucistic ball pythons are so pretty!! I've been researching ball pythons for a while now and I'm considering getting one. If I feel I'm capable of taking care of one and giving it a good life I will most definitely look into the leucistic ones. Thank you so much!!

Oh my gosh, yay!!!! I am so happy to see you go with this suggestion!!! :D I did not know that blue-eyed leucistic kingsnakes and pine snakes existed! I also always find it so fascinating when a wild leucistic snake is found in the wild - that is crazy with the sea krait found! If I were to ever get a leucistic snake, I think it would have to be either the rosy boa or a rainbow boa. But I am also partial towards boas! Haha. This was an enjoyable video. There is something almost mystical about white snakes. :)

I'm interested in rosy boas too. I've got a western hognose and a baird's rat snake. Working my way down a list of favorites and rosy boa is next. After that, a white-sided black rat snake because I love the contrast of the white scales with the black speckled back stripe.

I literally looked this up a while ago and this vid didn't show up. I just found it randomly. I've always been super interested in taxonomy and genetics so your videos have really helped and I wish that KZbin algorithm would push you a little bit more. Keep up the amazing work I love seeing it 💪😁

Great vid. I've been watching you since I found you raise Bulls. I've had many types of snakes in my life.. four types of colubrids, Boa C, Burmese & Retics & Ball Pythons. But Bulls are my fav. And a bull (found her as a hatchling) was my first snake at 17 yrs old. After having the big guys, albino burmese my largest at 10ft, I've chosen to raise only bulls as my last ones. A big snake in a littler package but great personality. I've never bred any of my snakes, raising one or two at a time. But I've decided that I want to breed my present bull, an Albino Hypo Axanthic (possibly) White-sided just once for the experience. I've studied snakes hardcore for 56 yrs., 6 yrs even before finding that first bull, and feel I have the knowledge, experience and a good friend who is my rodent suppler and a bull breeder herself, that I can do this. MY goal you ask? --I've always wanted a pure white snake. I want a pure white bull snake. One out of my Moaning Myrtle. She turn 2 yrs old a week ago and I would breed her next year when she's 3. Presently, she's about 57in and 980gms. Myrtle is a cream color with yellow saddles.. I want to ask you if you could suggest a possible male-match that with her genes MIGHT result in a Snow or pure white bullsnake. Whatever I pick for the male, I do realize that the odds are low. I understand that. Despite, I plan to keep 1 or 2 of her hatchlings. Thank you. ..Keep up the excellent vids. Love them.

I love the look of snakes they’re so cute. I never got everyone fear of it, ik it varies, but like the appearance never freaked me out. Like in the way bugs or something had. I think abt getting one bc I love cats and they seem similar in Yk boundaries & disposition and are so cute. However idk how to get over the big / mouse feeding thing and I feel like slithering would feel weird idk. I had been scared of hamsters till I got one yk idk. Also feels like there’s no where to meet a snake and vibe. Like there’s cat cafes’s, and stray cats and then everyone has dogs u can cross paths with but I’ve never met a snake to know if we’d gel.

Are there visual differences between the leucy black rat snake (eastern) and Texas (western) I’ve seen things such as the Texans having a longer, pointier snout and being shorter in length but I wanted your input. Also are male or female rat snakes larger in captivity? I’ve seen study’s saying the males are larger but have had people tell me females are larger or same size in captivity but that didn’t make much sense to me. Anyways I’d appreciate any input! I’m new to the channel and love your videos!
@JzsReptiles3 жыл бұрын
As far as I am aware, Eastern leucys all have western crossed into them to get that morph but I could be wrong. Males of western rats are usually a bit larger similar to many piuophis (gopher snakes) and I think it’s the same with eaters although I know black rat females are larger. I hope that helped. I’m not as versed with North American rat snakes as some other species but this is from what I’ve seen and several articles from universities and anecdotally from veterans of the hobby

If your fine with a little attitude, a Texas rat snake. Otherwise you’re probably looking at a bigger budget for a ball python
