White Sonic in Sonic 1 Remade (v1.24) :: Walkthrough + Unlockables (1080p/60fps)

White Sonic in Sonic 1 is a simple Sonic hack created by Joshwoakes. Originally made back in 2015, it is based around an easter egg super form of Sonic that was originally intended to appear in Sonic 2 RS, Sonic G6 (Version 2), and the cancelled "Sonic 2 G17" hack.
The remastered version of the hack known as "White Sonic 1 Remade" was made and released on April 14th back in 2018. The remastered verison was made as a result of it's sudden rise in popularly during 2016, while also the fact that the creator wasn't happy with the original version of the hack.
Unlockables:
Game breakage mode - Basically finish the game to unlock.
Sonic Float - Collect at least 200 rings in Green Hill Zone Act 2 and then get on top of the "S" tube towards the end of the act and then fully charge super peel out (or a big jump), release and time a jump to jump over the signpost. If done correctly you should then enter a interactive cutscene area which you then continue through to finish the process of unlocking Sonic Float.

I felt like giving this rom hack a retry for only a few reasons. For one, better sound & quality, two, actually checking out the one hidden unlockable I didn't realize I almost had from the previous take I did nearly 2 years ago, plus an easter egg in Green Hill act 1.

When people copy and paste info from my website or forum threads and don't point out the mistakes or correct them. Yeah, It seems no matter how many times I proof read stuff some mistakes always slip through. Anyway, It's nice to see someone do a video on this hack where they show off everything it has to offer including the unlockables and the "Maze" easter egg in GHZ1. Also adding the version number to the title can be useful as it gives an indication for in the future when an update is released what version you're playing in this video. The opening cutscene to this where sonic turns “super” is really cool. It flows very nicely. I had no idea you could do something like that on the Genesis.

Well of course you can create cutscenes like that on Genesis. Especially if most of the assets you need are already loaded. Yeah, Sonic 1's Title Screen partially loads green hill mainly for the background. I basically took advantage of that and made a seamless transition from the title screen to a cutscene and then to the first level. I loaded in the rest of green hill during the transition and cutscene it's self.
