@cerealvapist3334 жыл бұрын
Its rare that a person's happiest moment in life is recorded and broadcast to the world. I've been a fan of The White Stripes since 2000-2001. Because of my age at the time (only about about 14 or 15) I never imagined I would ever get much of a chance to see them live. In 2003 I started attending Bonnaroo every year. It always fell on or near my birthday. Never was all that into the music. Plenty of other fun to be had though *ahem. Well, as luck would have it, when I saw the lineup for 2007 I saw that the impossibly awesome thing I had never really believed would happen was in fact happening. So, the day after my 21st birthday (quite a day as you can imagine. Got to see TOOL for the first time but thats a whole other story) I got the absolute best present I've ever received. After standing through two other shows (Wolfmother who was great, and The Decemberists who were... a... band... I think) for about 8 1/2 hours I got to see the people who have had the most impact on my life (aside from friends and family) perform. Those who know me well would be amused to hear that I was really truly excited (like kind of making a serious ass out of myself). Didn't care. I was front row to see my heroes. I've tried to find myself in the footage but I can't. Probably for the best. Probably wasn't my coolest moment. If you want to know the moment I absolutely lost my mind go to 24:49. Death Letter is my jam. Sorry for the novel. Just really cool to see this on KZbin. Thank you for such an awesome channel. Keep it up.

Hands down the most high energy show I have EVER been to! It could be because I spent the 2 1/2 hours prior sitting on the lawn through Damien Rice and the Decemberists. It could be that because of that, I had prime viewing, in the third row, in front of 50,000 other people. It could be because it was 95 degrees out. Whatever it was, Jack's BRILLIANCE on guitar combined with Meg's simplistic drumming, made for one hell of a show - that i'll never forget!

I remember sitting in my home in SF watching this live stream, nearly shitting myself with excitement seeing all these new songs too, because I knew a few weeks later I was flying to Boston to see them and the next night in NYC at MSG, where I stood in front of Meg with my hand on the stage...greatest...concert...ever!!!

Amazing set. Meg truly looks happy. However I am a person that suffers from depression and social anxiety many times in my life I've been able to put on a good front and lead people to believe that I am okay and happy when I wasn't. I think in some ways as much as the stage and music made her feel at home, and also brought her a lot of anxiety and fear. No amount of money and fame can buy true happiness and peace. I think she enjoyed it until she couldn't handle it anymore. Regardless of how happy she may have looked or appeared in videos, no one knows how she truly felt inside. I'm just grateful to have seen them live in 2003. Luckily I found the video on KZbin from this same user.

Same diagnosis as you bro. I truly understand why she disappeared from the internet radar. I'm a recluse, I only have a few friends, I don't socialise much but that's ok. I finally live a stress free life and this is priceless.

Yeah, some of the biggest shows they played were on this tour, they made it to Madison Square Garden a week before their last show! If you've seen the Under Great White Northern Lights movie, you can see how hard this tour was on her, and it would be hard on anybody, I think Jack is just so insane/extroverted that he can handle it or really enjoys it. But from the few nuggets of information I've heard about her recently, she moved back to Detroit and shows up to Jack's shows. I hope she's doing well and as someone who's also struggled with depression and social anxiety, I hope you're doing well too

I remember a bar on Cass Ave. in Detroit was out of water because of a main break and I don't think it was even a Friday night. Well this local band was playing there that night and a record company rep was coming to check them out and seeing as I was a Supervisor with DWSD along with the afternoon (4-12) supervisor ordered a temp service from a hydrant down the block so this bar could have water and be legally open. That band was White Stripes. This had to be in years 97-2000, as summer of 2000 I was assigned other duties not working streets. And Jack White saved Masonic Temple from evil Little Caesars, who was buying up land in area for super cheap and was trying to get the Masonic Temple for back taxes.
