Jerry Lifsey they didnt meet in highschool, probably a year or two out of highschool, They met at a bar where Jack would read his poetry at open mic nights and meg was the bar tender

i know i might be late. but on "striped: the story of the white stripes" podcast, Ben Blackwell (Jack's nephew) explained that because this song was what they considered to be the epitome of the White Stripes sound
