Another Canadian here. I would love an online event.

Hi Yvette, I’m a potter that dabbles in embroidery. There are pottery shows & workshops that utilizes a program called Balloon where videos or live events are simultaneously going on and the viewer can go in/out and ask questions live or in chat. It is set up to resemble a convention center. The ones I have attended are called the Ceramics Congress, it’s a world wide event (if that helps). I’m in Florida and watched/chatted with folks Australia live at these events. It’s really wonderful to bring the world into ones living space. Good luck! Thanks for the floss tubes and how to’s, they’re great.

From a business point of view, anything you can do online that reaches the globe would be lucrative. Since the pandemic, I’ve taken a lot of online courses from all over I would never have travelled to the west coast for a retreat but I didn’t have to. Thank you, Jean Farish. I’m from New Jersey, USA.

Online event? Wow, for sure. I am in Canada, and as you said, chances are minimal that I get to attend the show in person. Can't wait to get the details of the online event. I will join it, that's for sure!

Thanks Carole! For those in Sydney who may miss out on the in-person show, it will likely be a disappointment, but for all those like you who would never get to come, this surely is a win! :-)

I would love a stitch-with-me. I have your Sardinia Knotted Embroidery book. For the life of me I can’t figure it out. Hopefully if I could watch you stitch it would help. I’ve tried large count linen, 25-26 ct. , moved step by step with no luck. This frustrates me as I’ve been stitching for years and have been able to read new stitch diagrams with no trouble. Even though I’m right handed I love your stitch dictionary. I bought it when we traveled in our motor home because it didn’t take up much space……..and your excellent instructions.

Hi Andi, I think you might find my video on Sardinian knot stitch helpful. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWmnp2tpa9Cpjqs And then you said "even though I'm right handed, I love your stitch dictionary." That makes me think you have a left-handed version of it. You do know there's a right-handed one? Whichever one you have, I'm glad you like it. :-)

I remember your stall when you were in Adelaide in 2018! What I would really love from an online event would be a stitch along of some sort. I would like to try a simple hardanger piece and maybe get some feedback to check if I am doing it correctly, etc. Can't wait to see more videos! The kloster blocks and buttonhole edging videos were really informative!

I’m currently doing the Roxie sampler with Jean Farish. She has had three zoom catch-ups with those participating (so far I’m the only unless they elected another time slot on the day). I agree it must be a lot of work but you would capture worldwide participation. I look forward to seeing what you decide to do. ❤️🤞

Would love to see a live event where we can interact with like minded stitchers. Would be a great opportunity to view more of your work and discuss the various techniques and aspects of whitework embroidery. Can't offer you any suggestions as to how it's done as I'm not really savvy with social media.

I’m currently working on the hardanger needlecase. Such a fun project! I bought the pattern quite a while ago, but only now got around to it. It’s currently at the eyelet-stage. The pattern is so pretty, and I’m having a really good time stitching it. I can very much recommend the pattern. Thank you for creating this beautiful project!

Moving online for an event is a great idea. You could also think of hooking in to an existing one like what the Craft Alive people have been doing for the last year or so. About once a month they do an international online craft event and it works pretty well. I follow it on facebook during the events. Just a thought as it's already set up and although I'm sure there's a cost involved it would save you some hassle plus it's already got a following. They are still trying to do in person events at regional areas (sadly not for me as I'm in Perth and we miss out!) but they keep having to cancel them whereas the online ones still go ahead. I realise they're in competition to the Craft Fair people though...

Thanks Michelle. I had a look at one of them some time back because I was curious and it only seemed to be links to peoples' websites. Maybe it has changed since then, but I had rather more in mind for my online event! Thank you for the suggestion though, I appreciate it.

@@yvettestanton During an event weekend they have videos, updates and online classes, live on facebook but I'm not sure how it is put together. Maybe 'like' the fb page and follow the next one along to get ideas!

I could listen to you ramble on for hours...Yes to a Zoom event. Charge a small fee to offset cost.

Thanks Beth - you make me laugh! I was wondering about a very low "entry fee", as a way of counting people who turn up.
