Hey Tom, I just wanted to let you know I greatly appreciate this song. You put exactly into words how I've been feeling, I'm low class grew up in Arizona a very conservative state, I've served in our military and suffer PTSD from it, every day I do all I can to be of service to the people around me and proudly outwordly conservative. I here insults every day for my beliefs, but I try and break down the barriers with conversation and songs like this that I can get others to listen and relate to help in changing minds. Love your music, love your messages. Take it easy brother, and thanks for your time if you read this.

Tom isn't one to be siding with since he is the one that is defending the Status Quo. He raps about being oppressed for being white when this country has POC oppressed more than white people. This is the same as the people commenting "All Lives Matter" because it dilutes the real issues.

RickC28 You obviously are everything u claim to be against. If u hate,u become what hate. Hate blinded u. As for tom he's speaking for white America. And he is dead on. We are to blame for all this country's woes, blacks in America need to be greatful they are here ,not in the best way,but this is the only country u can succeed if u want to. No one holding u back but u. Whites aren't "oppressed " persay....but we are being ostracized from every institution and being told we should be ashamed of who we are. I will not .
@RickC28
@RickC28 4 жыл бұрын
@@bfromthev7057 I never said I am hating my own race. You are the one hating on your own race for believing I was. You become what you hate. Tom is also exaggerating the truth. You aren't blamed for the countries unless you did had something to do with people's woes. Only the race in general. Yes. Blacks should be grateful for being here but that doesn't mean they have enough success here. They should continue the fight that they are doing here. The only ostracism that whites are getting are from white bosses devaluing their white workers. However, this also includes POC workers being devalued as well so you shouldn't feel that bad for being ashamed.

song hit me so close a veteran it. I was a corpsman with 3/7 Marines and when I got out I had PTSD so bad I couldn't function, I wound going homeless and dragging my ex-wife and children into homelessness with me. I got a place but everyday is still a struggle against suicidal thoughts paranoia, and aggressive thoughts towards others. Everyday feels like things are slipping away, I can't even afford to keep my kids in my se home right now, they have to stay with their grandparents. On the bright side I have good people all around me that help as much as they can, my landlady took me and my family in off the street and have me a job. This song hits so close to home. Thanks for you and Tom letting me voice this and get some weight off my shoulders. Y'all were therapy today.

Happens here in the UK too. Disgraceful. Its a sick world we live in, its all backwards. Its all to much a familiar story. It's so out of order... Tom really is a good man for touching on this. As you can see from Mathews face, we 'the people down here' want the best for you & all who've served, if it was up to us - each & everyone of ya's would be 100% respected & looked after for life! I remember when I was younger, my Grandmother was very much still dealing with the memories & pain of the war & for each of her brothers that didn't make it home. The one that did, drank himself to death and died laying on the street! The other with a hole in his face with cancer. That's us, the civilized west for ya hey! She taught me a lot, willingly or not... & inserted a solid respect in me on this topic that never left. I also remember meeting a man on leave, at a party and I was talking and asking... I said to him, straight in the face " Thank you for what you do, for your service" He was floored and said "No - one had *ever* said anything like that to him" ???? Wtf... It really took him aback - I found that to be rather sad in itself. Sorry for rant, I've not seen anyone react to that track before & his face says it all for me.

I have been called white trash and have been told because I am a white female I can't have a opinion. I have been told that I am a racist just because of my skin. It makes me sad that people think of me like that. Living in South Texas, along the boarder you see all the people coming across illegally. Its sad that they have to resort to breaking the law just to get to a better place. But you also get to see all the gun violence, and drugs. It's sad but it happens.
@RickC28
@RickC28 4 жыл бұрын
Unless this is some concern troll that I am speaking to then I would believe you with a grain of salt. I am a white person who also live i in South Texas and my experience there is a bit far from your experience. I have been called Racist just because they think I was scolding because of their race. But in reality I wasn't even doing that. But because of the color my skin they think I was. However, I have been contributing to the community by helping out the Hispanics in the area by doing some voluntary work and even helping out the refugees that came to the border from Central America. I told this to the people that think I was Racist to them to change their minds. It is irrelevant if the cross the border illegally or not since it is just a excuse to separate the people that "fit". If it they want to live here to get a better life then by all means. I don't know where you getting the idea of "gun violence and drugs" in South Texas since that doesn't happen alot. In fact it is alot safer to live in here than you do in Northern parts of the U.S. Which brings me to the music video. The artist who sang this song is notorious for over emphasizing his experience. In fact, being racist against whites isn't the same as a white person being racist against a minority. Whites by large have more of a dominance in culture than POC so it doesn't make sense to the artist to write the song. It is just reinforce the narrative that whites are victims. A troubling thought considered the 13 people like that comment without giving a thought on the situation that the video was playing.

As a vet this hits hard. I have already lost a few to suicide and other causes. What people don’t realize is in the service we are expected to perform our duties regardless to situations. While others can choose. When in the service we don’t have the same freedoms as others do despite what may have been relayed. I don’t regret my time in the service at all and many don’t but even after I got out over 4yrs ago I still have times when my brain goes through the motions as if I was still there. The transition isn’t so smooth.

You know what was worse than the ptsd and trouble sleeping after coming back was the reaction of citizens to me and my fellow brothers. Very rarely were we treated well or with respect. The looks and verbal attacks from them were truly shocking. Its sad what we have become

Thank you for reacting to Tom MacDonald. I love his music and fearlessness to speak about any subject with clarity and objectivity. I see him as someone saying things we all think. Yes all of us. But we don't talk about it. I agree with you. We need to talk about these topics. There is too much division. Great reaction.

I have seen many troops come home, disoriented, lost in the VA system, hurting, confused and felt betrayed by the system. We need to fix the VA and provide logical, proven methods to settled them back into civilian life... When they come back to the States they are thrown to the wolves after a week being home. They spent so much time training to be one way, we need to take more time when they are coming back into job training, reassembling, mental health, physical health, and provide for their basic needs, goes a long way. Love our soldiers and the families who support them, it can be extremely tough for all involved. 🇺🇸

He is definitely one if the greats and needs to be treated as such

I appreciate your insights and well-wishes for our veteran community brother! It's nice to hear that some folks still care after all the yellow ribbon bumper stickers have faded. And I'm so glad to hear from you, high praises on Tom Macdonald's songs! And equally glad he responded back to you!!! I can tell you that me, myself being a veteran... I have probably listened to the 2nd song over 100 times now.. And to some degree I feel like it's saved me from completely giving up, because it reassures me that someone else out there knows almost exactly what I'm going through and how I feel. So I don't feel completely alone anymore. I don't know how Tom does it... But it seems you also have a certain gift as well sir, because you seem to understand and are able to point out the fact, that he has a unique and uncanny ability to put himself in other's shoes and in turn produce these "gems" that you speak about. So good on you as well as Tom! I hope your channel continues to grow and do well!

My husband served 10 years and multiple combat deployments. The VA says he’s broken and can’t work. The VA broke him more than the war did. Fix the VA and our young vets will have a chance at redemption, because that’s what most of them want.

Always love your reactions. Be positive and stay true to yourself. This second song is exactly why we have so many homeless vets, coming back from war and going back to normal like nothing happened. This is a sad and true fact our vets should be taken care of with the best but it doesn't happen. I listened to my dad talk about how America treated them after Vietnam and hear the sadness and anger at the same time. #Creeksquad #Hangovergang

This hit me hard. I have a friend that served and only spoke of 1 incident he went through as he cried. I showed up late one night to the house and went in trying to not wake anyone up. He hollered out and I froze as I heard him cock the gun and almost shoot me. His P.T.S.D. made him think I was someone else meaning him harm. He still struggles with what he had to do over there.

Tom should be mentioned in almost any conversation. He has bars, and they have heavy messages. People sleep on him, cause his bars speak truth. And there are many people who disagree with what he says, cause the media tell them too.

Tom message to us is that we should ignore the real issues and focus on issues that isn't as prevalent as frequent compared to POC. This isn't because the "media" tells them that. Its because it's the true. JPEGMafia is a better example on what is going on to us.

I fell in Love With The Song “Wheels Keep Turning” by having Tom’s playlist playing one day while I was cleaning & wasn’t watching the video. The Lyrics gave me chills & the Hook literally is on repeat in my mind every day! Then I had to restart the video so I could see it & was in tears by the end, it fits so perfectly with the lyrics. Much appreciated for Toms Message & A HUGE appreciation to our active military & Vets.

The song on PTSS hit home really hard. My brother had PTSS after serving in Vietnam. He was a decorated hero and always said he received his medals because he was in the wrong plaice at the wrong time. He tried to get help when he got home, but he never got it and finally took his life. The horrors just were too to handle.

You're so much more intelligent compared to other reactors. Like that daughter and father that react, can't remember their names but the dad missed the whole point and message and was stuck on the past where none of us, our parents, nor grandparents were living. We will never come together when people constantly bring up slavery that they never even experienced.. ugh. The closed mindlessness of folks drives me crazy!! It's like some people never want the world to come together. We are all only one race and that's the HUMAN RACE 😍❤️💯
