White Zebra Pair - Day 12 to 22

Welcome to Part 2 of my white zebra pair breeding. It is day 12 to 22 - interesting times for the chicks as they grow their feathers. Light colored chicks most likely grow with white feathers.
Expectations:
The female White is crested, a dominant trait, so I am hoping to get at least one crested white bird. At day 16, it is already noticeable that one of the chicks is crested based on the spread out feather growth on the head.
Dirty White
At Day 14, one of the chicks already shows mottled with dark feathers. It only gets better as it grows day by day.
Out of the Box
By day 19, the eldest chick is already wandering out of the nest box. First instinct of any breeder is try to bring it back. As for myself, as long as I see that the parents are feeding their chicks both inside and outside, I just leave them be.

My finches also laid. It has been 4 months that I brought them. Two pairs have started laying eggs since last Sunday. So far 4 eggs laid. Hope so all are fertile and baby hatches after 14 days. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Were you successful in hatching? Normally in the 8th day you can see tiny red veins on the egg if you put them in front of a flashlight to see if they are fertile.

@@FinchHobbyistPH yes, the egg hatched. But it's mother was very aggressive. Later I found at 6 PM that the baby was killed hence the mother was so aggressive and chasing the other one. Later on again they laid eggs. Two hatched. Again one died after 7 days and another one after 10 days. I don't even disturb them. Simply I put the plate and move away. Balanced diet. And once the babies are out, I don't give vitamin drop.

My Gouldian laid, but male not sitting inside nest, he sits in night but some time he remain outside, is it normal?

I only have experience with zebras, gouldians, star finches and long tailed finches and they are ok to keep in an aviary. Make sure to have enough room to fly around and not crowd the cage.

If you can return it to the pet shop, please do so. Without flight your finch will have a hard time in breeding and will have health problems in the future.
