Love how you decorated. Beautiful ❤. I when through two major surgeries. One before Christmas (decorated simple) last year and one in June. But this Christmas I’m so thankful to the Lord. I went all out and decorated with a meadows theme, celebrating all the seasons. I’ve learned that no matter what season in life we’re in, we can fit, function and flourish because our Heavenly Father and Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us!!!

Mary, the oranges studded with cloves is something I do also. Here’s an Christmas punch recipe with oranges. Aroma when it’s brewing is amazing. In a crock pot, and apple cider and cranberry juice. Add in 2 cinnamon sticks and 2 or 3 oranges studded with cloves. Once oranges are studded rinse well so no pieces of clove come off. Simmer on low, then enjoy this warm winter punch!❤️

Mary YES!! This is what I've been doing ever since the first C19 lock downs we had. The simplicity of the decor allows the beauty of the tree and evergreen pieces to show! When Christmas is over, most of my tree decorations end up in simmer pots and the birds get some! All that gets put away are tin cardinals and some red berry stems which we don't have live locally. When you un-decorate your tree you will be so happy you did this! I've done it for the past 3 years now going on 4. All my "decorations" fit into one bowl, most are reused, and the un-decorating takes about 10 minutes! Love, love, love, that you went this way!

Mary, your house ist the Home of my dreams. The Tree Farm reminds me of our visits with the kids (30 years ago) to buy our real tree at a farm. There was a big old house and nice people. You could also buy homemade cookies, decoration and cute toys from wood. The kids had a hot cocoa. Everybody enjoyed these trips. I wish you and your family a merry and bright christmas. We made clove oranges when I was a child (I am 68). We would score them making slits in the peel and even designs and cover them with cloves. They dry nicely, we kept them for years and added to the collection yearly. We also put popcorn garlands in the tree outside our kitchen windows and enjoyed watching the birds eat them over winter. Thanks for the memories.

This year I can feel it too...yes, agreed it's time to slow down the routine we have been pushed along to do...buy buy buy to decorate and give material items that may or may not bring joy. Hugs, smiles, active listening, just time together watching movies or creating meals...those moments cannot be just bought and are more precious through the years than how much $ was spent. I am guilty of this... I want the ambiance and perfect gifts (love giving), but it takes over my time better spent just loving my loved ones.
