I gotta say these explainers are really well constructed. They flow in a logical way, you don't pile on too much at once and you know exactly when to double back and explain things in more detail.

Thank you so much! I work a lot on the structure of the script specifically so the explanations all follow pretty logically and are understandable to someone who's never read a Despia card before.

Look, he said to pick lubellion for the mirrorjade summon. DO NOT do that. Use Albion. It’s better in the deck cuz mirror jade targets it for its banishment during the opponents turn granting you a free spell, AND getting you your icclesia back if you used her for the Albion summon with the branded fusion activation to start the combo. Also, if you pull branded banishment or branded expulsion it’s GG if you have RA’s disciple as the light target. Just know that they would need 2 negates just to stop you from OTK them, the setup is still doable, you just can’t stun lock them.
@LamesAMA2 жыл бұрын
@@GIOBLANCO1 If you take the line where you use Albion, you don't get to send Tragedy to add Ab Libitum, which represents a major point of interaction on the opponent's turn. and you're missing some of the best plays the deck can make.

@@LamesAMA OOOH!!!! I was wondering why it usually took two turns for me to get double masquerade on the board! Im a theory crafter in training and just got into the game in may, idk why I bravely interjected my 2 cents lol that’s actually super helpful, I take it all back, this deck is super adaptive, gona find a card to drop to add ad lib back in
@LamesAMA2 жыл бұрын
@@GIOBLANCO1 What I go over in this vid is the standard build that saw the most success across all formats, including paper ones before the deck hit Master Duel. If you're theory crafting, I highly recommend learning the ins and outs of the standard build. It becomes WAY easier to tweak and adjust things ones you know how all the gears turn as opposed to doing it from scratch. By no means stick to it once you're comfortable with it though, this deck is seemingly built for infinite customization.

I am loving the handtrapless build. Albion the shrouded dragon has been a huge surprise for me since it gets either an albaz or branded sword in grave and then just replaces itself. They can ash branded fusion all they want if I am sitting on 7+ cards in hand that include 2 ways to hard fuse. Also quite relaxing to just not have to interact with opponent on turn 1 going 2nd.

yeah i agree, hand traps make this deck a LOT worse, especially since there has not been a single deck similar to drytron this meta, not many negates this meta, despia doesn't really work well with hand traps its a lot better running board breakers like dark ruler no more or even kaijus, or just forcing your opponent to waste negates and gain advantage through raw power.

As an amusing note on Titaniklad: When I started Master Duel, which was a return to Yugioh after a decade, and I had stumbled into the Branded Despia archetype (Which itself stems from my declaration to theme my deck around dragons entirely) Titaniklad was, and still kinda is, one of my mainstays. Namely as a beater. My deck is...kinda bizarre, and it involved having a Dogmatika Nexus as a sort of way to get one last use out of me, or my opponent's, fusion monsters. But what it primarily got used for, was as Titaniklad fodder which jacked its ATK up to 4000 and proved a fairly solid beater to haphazardly whack the opponent over the head with. It's been solid for capitalizing on an opening or overwhelming high ATK monsters that Mirrorjade can't get rid of.

Ogre has its niche, but doesnt really prevent their play. On T1 when they use Mirrorjade send Albion, you can ogre it to prevent raigeki on your endboard next turn. Still doesnt stop their plays and I would only use it on going 2nd deck like striker/zoodiac who has 18 HT. Even then, other HT better and for strikers, they dont really care about mirror jade raigeki effect since they can just get hayate/kagari get destroyed by Raigeki and raye to Shizuku. For Zoodiac its pretty nice since jade lingering effect kills Zoodiac board unless they have megaclop.

I played against Branded Tri-Brigade today and it was kinda terrifying how much interaction they had. It feels stronger than the regular Tri-Zoo by a long shot. Zeus is good and everything but when so many decks are playing Ghost Ogre to out Fateful or Floo I feel like it’s definitely not as oppressive as it used to be. I don’t know what their turn would have been if I had opened any negates or if every hand can product the type of board I played against but it seemed pretty crazy. Im considering updating mine but Im not looking forward to crafting 3x UR Rescue Cats after all the other URs I’ve had to craft over the past couple days 🤢

I know MD can be expensive so only do it if you happen to have the cards. Many content creators upload no commentary/learning replay videos not realizing there are plenty of people that came from Duel Links or a returner from IRL that don't know wth is happening LOL. The advice given in the video is for generic cards that every deck is likely to run. If your deck isn't drawing your hand traps, you're drawing combo extenders or other playmakers that let you to play through an opponent's board or interrupt their plays. Despia is also an incredibly fair 'best' deck, if a deck can never win a game where Branded Fusion resolves, there is probably a severe problem in deckbuilding.
