AlucardIsASweaty Inkling true but u give a Sousa to a Tubist in High school and good tone just goes out the window. My school just got new miraphones and going from that to a Sousa makes you forget what a good instrument sounds like. add that and marching season and this happens eventually.

Sousaphones do not have the greatest sound that can be produced on the field, so I see what you mean. Contra's however produce a amazing sound, when played well, and the contra itself is a hard instrument to march. "You need alot of air support, good tone quality, and definitely strength if you don't plan on buying a Yamaha.

AlucardIsASweaty Inkling the only time i'm playing a Contra is the Crossman Experience and a Oregon Crusaders camp thing. Its hard to say whats better because i haven't played a Contra yet. Going from a Brand new Miraphone to a Sousaphone in one day made me realize that Sousas sound really bad but i still love playing them.
