Tow Operator here, Nice to see at least someone appreciates us. Usually we're looked at as meth head criminals lowlifes. Little do people know, we must drug screen, can't be a felon to work along side law enforcement and obviously have to have good driving records for insurance purposes. We do what we do because we love what we do, it's damn sure not for the little money and no benefits we get. Most of us are also about standing behind our truckers and backing the blue.

If I see them I always stop help out women. Even back up & walk if I see kids with them. My Main point there lot weirdos & sick people in world today. 1 time I swear I think I ran 1 sicko off from a Mother & kids. Wasn't easy prey. Dude did not look normal & cussed & took off very strangely when he saw she was not alone..

@@luvtotrade2009 these guys never divulge their fees (for good reason) I can shed some light here. I worked for a truck fleet in Milwaukee 10 years ago. It cost $1000 to tow a straight truck from Chicago. About 120 miles and a straight truck might be 40 to 50 ft. long.

Drove 40 years , I’m retired now . No power steering ,jake or cruise control 1972 Freight liner ,single screw ,cab over , 2 1/2 foot wide sleeper . Don’t miss driving winter times after looking at this brought back lots of memories lol . Good job guys an stay safe !

Shelby, you may want to invest in what the Army refers to as an E tool, it is a miniature foldable shovel made of steel and easy to take from truck to truck.

Yes she do need carry safety supplies with her. Plenty can food & water never have too much week worth at least.. Fuel plenty. Rock salt. Sand. Floor quick dry. Good chains & extra new pair.. Good warm clothes plenty. And very good waterproof boots & good warm waterproof gloves. At least propane torch with extra bottle. Everybody not as nice as wrecker driver. Get bad where she is. Lot times others acting stupid get yourself stuck.That 1 girl I like see make it in tough trucking world. Sometimes it best park up few hours if not next day or 2. Get bad dozer with not travel on solid ice. Done that did that in D-11 slide for feel like miles at least 500 yards. Best I drove on ice was 300 to 400 ton rock trucks heavy enough break the ice. I don't watch her enough what contract she got. But no contract worth dying over.

@@Houndini If you are going in that area, all three lockers are a must have, not a 'would be nice' to have. I live at the end of the pavement in the North, MOST semi tractors are equipped, or will end up getting towed, at some point. This year we have almost all of our years snow fall, and it isn't officially winter yet! Also warmer than usual. Go figure. Stay safe

My wife drives over Donner Summit every day. Hanging chains in the winter. You just got sent up to number 2 on my list of favorite badass truckers. And thanks to those heavy rescue drivers for what they do as well as the plow drivers. God bless you gals and guys for getting it there!

This was a rather heartwarming experience, there's a lot of selfishness in this world, but moments like these shows that people are capable of coming together for a common cause. Shelby's kindness extended towards others. This certainly felt like a more grandiose version of the last Winter storm video (Tractor Recovery Winter Storm Finale if I recall).

@@j.b.9895 That's not true. I drive for a FedEx Ground contractor domiciled in Hagerstown, MD. My contractor trusts the judgement of his drivers implicitly. If any of us say that we don't feel comfortable driving in certain conditions, we don't go. Period. No questions asked. Not to mention, I worked for FedEx Ground as a package handler before I got my CDL. I loaded those trailers for 2 1/2 years. I know from first-hand experience that there's nothing in any of those trailers that's so important it's worth someone's life.

Was that the Eisenhower tunnel? I remember plowing that area last year, was so much fun and the over time was stacked back then. But that area is no joke, taking it slow and being safe is the best thing you can do. I’m on my third year plowing and still have a lot to learn and still get scared on sliding off the mountain but great video keep up the great work.

Wow! I just stumbled upon this vid👍🏻❄🌨🔥✊ Sharing it to my Facebook page because I was just on another thread with a friend saying the situations in which we'd either pull over and stop and/or not go any faster than is safe. Not driving right now because of some surgery I had last year and also because they became so dismayed with the company I started out with. Still have my CDL and have kept it active, but I'm not sure I want to go back out on the road until after I'm completely healed and I've built up some mental resiliency.

Grteat video, and I like to see the newer drivers out there that have your attitude. I have been driving for 30 years and every day Im on the road I learn something new. Im glad I run local now, and Im really glad I live just outside Phoenix so I done have to deal with the snow any more. I did my tour in the mid west for the first 10 years of my driving when I lived in the north woods of Wisconsin. Keep up the good job and may God be with you.

I appreciate your level of concern and caution when the weather is bad especially how it relates to the speed that you drive. I have seen too many accidents due to excessive speed in poor visibility environments
