"An old Trousersnake song"! Lol! I saw Moody/Marsden in 1992 at a small festival in Coverdale (I kid ye not), Yorkshire. It pissed it down all day and it was a small crowd, but they were wonderful. Of course, they could not resist the odd joke at Mr Coverdale's expense!

That Bernie is quite the singer, is he not? There is something to behold in the Lord, Marsden, Moody, Murray, Paice membership in Whitesnake. David's voice was wonderful then and it was the best music Whitesnake had to offer by far.

Unpopular opinion here among all the DC haters. As great as all these musicians are, (and no excuses for DC fucking Murray more than anyone else Powell left and Sykes wanted to sack DC), and yes Murray is an incredible bassist and very underrated, Moody and Marsden also never got the respect they deserved - what a duo it was! Lord and Paicey's greatness goes without saying. BUT - BUT I'd say it's just the just the opposite of what you said: Marsden, Moody and even Murray would have been totally unknown and left to obscurity if not for DC/WS. Was he a douche more than once? Sure. But IMHO he's the toughest slavedriver out there - whoever played with him was ALWAYS at their peak in WS - never at the same level either before or after (only exceptions being Lord & Paice, and maybye Mendoza). And yes, this includes Sykes, Vai, Dunbar, Murray, Moody, Marsden, Campbell, Vandenberg, Aldritch et al.
