It's so sad that David lost his wonderful voice. As we age, vocal cords lose the elasticity, which is normal. Even with his vocal range being affected, he still delivers a great performance!!! ❤ I'll always support him!!❤

I've always loved the fact the he is the original singer of the song 'BURN' by Deep Purple. SO amazing...
@deebop4904 Жыл бұрын
HALF the singer. Glenn hughes has parts as well. The album is a top 10 for me. 1st purple album after gillian left, glenn and david are perfec5 as they both have naturally different ranges, wnd i think every song has 2 part harmonies with them often sharing verses ( sail away ) glenn hughes got bonamassa to do 5hat kind of thing with black country communion, but the album burn is special.

I see David Coverdale, but I don't hear his classic singing voice anymore... Not the voice of the classic Whitesnake and Deep Purple... I'm sadden by this..
@kevinmahoney19955 жыл бұрын
@Amy Johansen Definitely! On a related note, I'm really impressed with Glenn Hughes. If you haven't, you should listen to some of his recent performances. I just saw him in Atlanta last week playing all Deep Purple songs from the 70s and it was beautiful!

I'll tell you what- You wail like Coverdale for 40+ years and see what your voice sounds like. Sure, he has to growl and "cheat" a little to cover for a loss of tone and range over the years; but he's still David "Freakin" Coverdale, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer! (And thank God, he hasn't resorted to gimmicks like auto-tune, lip-syncing or double-tracking like a lot of singers have to cover their vocal limitations.)
@Nissardpertugiu5 жыл бұрын
@Amy Johansen the updated growling is since Coverdale page . But he always had this . Howlin wolf style ;)

As much as I appreciate his trying to keep it going. I think it takes away from the original to keep singing such a classic with an old man's voice and soul. It just makes me sad at the curse and death and the truth that we were never intended to age and die in the beginning. I guess I don't have to listen but the old guy rocker making retirement income on his glory days is getting old and out of hand. Why can't new young guys have soul and write good new music? Some are and do. Hail to the king by avenged sevenfold is one of the greatest songs written in years, also hail storm I am the fire again equal in awesomeness as slow and easy but that doesn't mean I want to see Lizzie singing it at 70 years old! God bless you David, truly know Jesus Christ as your savior and take up fishing or something. Just my opinion

I hate to sound so negative because I really enjoyed Coverdale with Whitesnake, and his time with Deep Purple. But good Lord, in 2016 when this was recorded he would have been 65 years old. The point of making good money is so you can retire and not have to work in your mid to late 60s. Like I plan to do here in a few years. Yes he sounded okay in this video. Just okay, but he's not a young man anymore. And that's the problem with a lot of aging musicians. At one time they were at the top of their game. We all were great at whatever we did in life. But as we get older we can't do what we did in our 20s and 30s. That's when you look back at what you did and hope others appreciate your work.
@IslandDigital4 жыл бұрын
Your Pocket Mechanic I sure hope I’m rocking it like that at 65. Give him credit for getting out there keeping it going. A guy like Bon Jovi needs to stop right away. Man his voice is OVER. Tommy Aldridge must be up there too what an ANIMAL player !
@chatter76534 жыл бұрын
That's an understandable conclusion....from a non-musician...When you are a musician however, that burning flame to create and perform music never leaves you. It's woven into your soul.
@jdude76502 жыл бұрын
@@chatter7653 A good perspective. But why not write for other people or sing new songs? I just can't stand to see a guy who had such a voice and stage presence and swagger keep torturing such a classic! I would greatly applaud him for doing new stuff which he has and is but stop ruining my memory of one of the greatest bluesy hard rock songs of all time. The song deserves better.
@michaelbarnard93072 жыл бұрын
@@jdude7650 I don't think they care about your opinion specifically. They are musicians. You're basically saying that once someone is old, they should stop doing things because other people might not like they are old and doing that. That is idiotic and shows your selfish mentality.
