Great review! When listening to late seventies and early 80’s metal music, try not to pay too much attention to where they charted. Metal was big but at that time many of them received very little radio airplay. Bands like Metallica were selling out entire arenas with no radio airplay. White Snake were big back in the day.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Jimmy Page has played his guitar w a bow of a violin as well. Double guitar, I think, and I know he played it in The Firm, Radioactive (80s Supergroup). Also - Jimmy Page put out a CD in like 89, 90, 91 ish w this lead singer, David Coverdale. You def need to check that out. There's a song on there called Over Now that sounds like the love of my.kife, Robert Plant.

I could be wrong, but I think the reason this album did so well is because there were a total of 3 releases from it that were hits. Of the three, this wasn't the one that got the most air time, but to me it is by far the best one. I love the darker feel to this one and that breakdown is still fire 30 something years later! Btw, the lady just recently passed. She was the lead singers real life girlfriend and was featured in several Whitesnake videos.

Five singles. Only four had videos though, but radio was still a good promotional tool back then so you didn't always _need_ a video to break a song. It was getting kinda rare not to have one though.

Such an iconic 80s song, really takes me back. I was in high school and yeah the 80s were just like this. Women felt empowered by our sexuality but we didn’t want it all. We just wanted to be still in the night with our man by our side. I was surprised when you read off the stats on this song, but I guess it’s because we just had so much good music to choose from.

I like a lot of the "Hair" bands too, they made good music. Their look was for show, at least it wouldn't look like they just got out of bed and went on stage. On this song, they did play that sound with a bow. Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin did that as well, I think on "Whole Lotta Love," but I'm not positive.

Excellent reaction! Based on what you said about the type of rock you like, I have the perfect follow up live performance for you to react to. Just search for Kiss - Love gun [East Rutherford 6/27/2000] it’s one of their best performances!!!

In my opinion, this is their best song. But, I’ve just recently come to appreciate their music. When released in the 80’s…I took offense. I felt they were stealing Zeppelin…Robert Plant’s sound and look; Jimmy Page using a bow on the guitar.

If you like this heavier sound, check out their album ‘Slide It In’ which was the album right before this one. ‘Slide it In’, ‘Slow n Easy’, and a good ballad called ‘Love ain’t no stranger’! The whole album is good, but that’s just the first 3 that popped in my head.
@Snakehead19642 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Page stole that idea with the bow himself in the late 60ies ;-)
