CONTENT WARNINGS
nothing too graphic, but Whitestone scenes including;
minor blood, scars, and violence. spoilers for campaign 1
hoo boy started this project last october and here it is! You can imagine my excitement that the animated series will be based on this arc since perce is an all time favourite. This video itself is pretty edgy and very De Rolo focused but some of the best scenes are the funny ones with everyone so I really recommend you check out the first campaign of critical role :)
This was done over a year and a bit in procreate and premiere pro, idc about inconsistencies let them go
Btw if you'd like to support me and see WIP's, cut work, and other projects I'm starting to work on check out my patreon:

Hey all, YT's decided to age lock this vid cause apparently it depicts dangerous self-harm to children, in which case I'm gonna be super bummed to learn all existing VM videos will shortly be removed😔 anyway I'm having problems playing it on a PC but mobile seems to work fine once u acknowledge the extreme content warning, which is all the advice I can give I'm afraid Thanks again for all the views and lovely comments💛

My one disagreement with Percy was his delusion that he had done wrong by creating a gun in a world of tyrants and spell casters. The can be used for evil, but only more easily by his attempt to hide them, and they can't do half the damage that a wizard with magic missile can half the time.

frames that made me want to cry, in order: -the moment at 0:20 with vox machina on the tree???? absolutely fucking haunting. -the bits with percy and cassandra as children in the second verse, specifically the expressions for "and i have no idea / where else my heart could have" and the direct cut to cassandra with the arrows for "been." -the names on the list at 0:59 -KEYLETH'S FACE AT 1:10. THAT BROKE MY HEART. -"nowhere to stand and now nowhere to hide" being used with orthax?? that works so well that it physically hurt me. -no mercy percy at 1:51, complete with mask. i want. to sob. -"liars and thieves, you know not what is in store" for silas and delilah in the portrait at 2:11. the detail is fucking STUNNING here, the shadow of the skeletons you can see at the bottom, silas' smirk with the little fangs, the way their eyes are crossed out. -THE PAN UP. FROM 2:27 TO 2:30. OHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GOD. FUCK. the Look in percy's eyes here just gave me the chills because That! Is! The! Man!!! that's it!!! -cassandra at 2:49. everything from the look in her eyes to the way that the text is all in a line almost like a heart monitor that's flatlining. -the way it flashes exactly on the beat between all of vox machina at 3:19 and all of their expressions, the pained nervousness with vax, grog's immediate rage, how concerned vex looks, pike with the "i'm gonna kill you now" look, the visceral kind of anger with keyleth, the smug grin with scanlan, the conflict and betrayal you can see with cassandra, aND CUTTING PERCY TO DISPLAY JUST HOW DISTANT HE IS FROM HIS FRIENDS IN THAT MOMENT, SHOWING THE BRIARWOODS FIRST BECAUSE HE'S JUST *SO* FUCKING HELLBENT ON REVENGE, WITH THE FINAL STAND WHERE YOU CAN SEE HIS PAIN AND THE SMOKE FROM ORTHAX BLEEDING OUT WHERE'S ABOUT TO JUST FUCKING DESTROY THEM. oh my GOD. words do not exist for how much i loved this part. ultimately please know that i love this more than life itself and it's beautiful to the point of making me watch it about a dozen times in the past hour. my life will never be the same, 11/10. please excuse the all caps because thats just all i can get out right now with watching it.

When I first watched this I hadn't seen a single ep of crit role and barely knew any of the characters. I'm now on ep 36 and context makes this 1000000% better.

Man, this really stands out to me. This episode, the sneaking into Whitestone, was the first episode I caught of this campaign. I never played before, I never watched before, cause the game was banned due to religious reasons. One insomnia-filled night I wanted to see why D&D was #1 on twitch, and god damn was I in love immediately. These scenes were pretty much exactly how I saw them in my mind as I was watching live, which is insane to think others saw these just as clear. Sadly I got burned out after the red dragon fight & haven't gotten back into it since (and only 7 episode of campaign 2), but man do I love Critical Role, and the community!!

why percy is one of my favorites. isnt how smart he is or how fast he is with one liners. cause ina world magic and crazy he made an equalizer. he lost everything an embodied his hate anger and revenge to be absolved of it from vex and become a man of honor. i loved how he always became what thought he never could.

I keep coming back here time and time again, and each time I'm so disappointed you can only like a video once- This song is so strongly linked to Percy and the Briarwoods in my mind thanks to this masterpiece that I see the scenes before my eyes and strongly feel all the emotions this arc gave me whenever it comes on

I remember first watching this video when I was fourteen and then it being age restricted. I just turned eighteen and this is the first age restricted video I’ve watched. It feels like I have waited four years to watch it again and it was totally worth it.

I recently finished the Whitestone arc and it really hit me with the feeling of dread and watching this representation really shows in more depth how Percy and even the rest of the party felt coming home to Whitestone only to see it full of despair, terrorized, and even hopeless. When Matt described the sun tree with the bodies... that really made things go from this is bad to this is worse. And I feel as if this animation accompanied by the music has done a very good job at displaying the emotions of those sessions of being in Whitestone.

Man I never had time to watch the critical role sessions given just how many their were and how long they went on so I never really had context for this pmv but after I watched the vox machina animated show this hits way harder and makes so much sense.

I just came across this gem again and can't wait to show it to a friend after finishing season 1 of The Legend of Vox Machina. This actually makes me cry. It's still as amazing as when I found it a year ago, maybe even better.

i found this by complete accident re-visiting this song, and i’m OBSESSED. the song fits him perfectly and you nailed the imagery in Every. Single. Panel you drew for this. and your design for ripley is fantastic, i recalled seeing the panel of her in the cell on tumblr and being able to recognize which character it was immediately. fantastic job op!

He really gave a lot for his Sister, his love and his friends. He gave his life to a God to bring back his sister, then later when he died at the first fight with Vekna he gave his soul in exchange for more time to ensure he could give them all a future. Vax's life really is sad, he gave up his future for those he loves. Granted I just started Episode 114 so I've no clue what happens yet in the last episode 115.

Adam Tittle i’m on ep 48 so i didn’t finish reading the comment but i know it’s coming and i’m sad, i watched c2: his c1 character starts happy and ends up dark and his c2 character is on his way up from a very dark place. Props to Liam, he’s great

I’m blown away by the extremely high quality of just *gestures wildly with hands* everything. The emotions of the song line up so well with the art, and the art is -fantastic- and then the lyrics just fit perfectly with Percy. Really well done, and definitely the most memorable video I’ve ever seen on the internet.

at 3:11 i can imagine percy walking in-sync with the beat up the steps and i like to imagine him reloading bad news when the drums kick in with the "allign my heart-" section. And together with the last lyric he would aim Bad News at Sylas and scream his name, the scene ending with Sylas in the crosshair and a fade to white due to muzzleflash
